Good thread Pete,

You've spent a few £££ on it since I saw it last! MOT via QMech?

Thanks, just trying to stick to the big things in terms of updates.

Mot wasn't with Andy, I had a free mot voucher with ATS when buying some pilot super sports for my golf so I thought it's worth using even if they tell me I need work done. As it turned out it was flawless nothing whatsoever. Andy sorted last years mot, but the tester came up with this little doozie as an advisory...

My reaction to the tester was "it's an undertray, dumbass!!!".

Quick update. Managed to get a super deal on a new seat, but it needs a bit of work haha...

Just need to check it fits in my runners then it'll be off to the trimmer to get matched to my passenger side.

My Vx was failed once for not having carpet or floor mats, as they were being cleaned, and MOT tester had slipped whilst getting in.

And despite that they passed TurboToasters car with all his aero fitted.

Where did you get the seat shell?  I'd love a borrow of one of those ;)

Lol chanced upon it. I considered a gelcoat finish but would need too much work. Once trimmed should look good though!

The old original ones made by Express plastics, I think they have closed down they have not made seats for Lotus for years.

I assume the 2007 on the sticker is date of manufacture. I read that the newer ones aren't as light, but I've not weighed the shell even taking into account its bare it's very very very light. Maybe I should make a reverse mould and start a production line haha.

If I were more patient with the filler I'm sure it could be made into a smooth finish which could be painted or wrapped.

Haha that's the way I do it! Then reality hits that I can't weld/wire/paint or whatever as well as I thought I could.

Another update but didn't take a pic. New spitfire 7075 toe links are going on this week if it stays dry. They are like automotive art!!!

Pics time, got the toe links in and test fitted the seat which can now go to dave the trimmer.

The kit is the 'uprated' uprated M12 race version and the rods are mahooosive and look great especially with the uprights now being blasted and cloated.

Also fitted a rover metro mirror which is much smaller and nicer

And at the business end the new discs and RS42's are on.
