I love a bit of plastidip, to me using clear gloss coat is just a great way of protecting parts.

Just deciding whether to have lime green mirrors again for the summer or a new colour this year.

It is good stuff, especially for the DIYer..... before I bought this car I've never really done anything like this to any of my other cars, love the way you can customise it to your own style/taste...... I'm throughly enjoying my Sundays working on the car

Like the idea of using this stuff to hide/protect the front from stone chips. Just not sure if it would look tight with a different yellow section to the rest of the car...

That won't hide all the current stone chips.

Your right, my front is peppered, can't see it in the pics but you won't get a match so I am gonna get the red paintwork on my car re sprayed properly then protect it, I couldn't live with the different shades

Have some experience with plastidip. from a proper spray gun the finish is much much smoother than from rattle cans. You can get the Earlex gun for about £130 and it's one of the easiest things to spray with. If you clean the area you are spraying properly it's actually really hard to cock it up. We tried putting thicker sections, too much on, too little on etc and each time, providing we gave it enough coats to cover the area it always came out great.

Unfortunately, any petrol on the cap and it will eat right through it. It's a shame.

Prices seem silly compared to abroad. Apparently you can't just import the stuff.

Update.... anyone thinking of using this, shell out for the actual plastidip brand at 15 quid a tin.... The finish is way better than the copies and actually easier to use cos the quality is better
