Is this just isolated to the rear? I had my mot done last week and he said there was some play in the front drop link. Any experience of the? http://www.elise-sho...2aa14c0952b96c3 I'm doing the frolic in August which will be a LOT of strain on the car over a period of one week and want to make sure I'm in the best shape possible beforehand.

Pete. The drop links at the front just attach to the ARB. A failing drop link will just cause a rattle and a complete failure won't cause loss of control so is not as critical as rear toe link failure. If you haven't replaced your rear toe links before it might be better to get that sorted before the frolic.

Nobody ever mentions track rod end failures ? Do we just not get many of these at all ?

What was it that failed on Mikes Time Attack car at the national last year ?

I was thinking exactly this. In my (must be incorrect) view the rear toe links are doing the same as the steering arms and track rod ends? I can't understand why the rear links should have hugely more force on them than fronts?

I would hazard a guess that because the rear wheels don't steer into the corner and there is a lot more weight over the rear axle then rear end cornering forces must be a lot higher ?

Unfortunately it'll be a lot worse tomorrow and the day after. Mine took about a month to go.

I'm great at cheering people up :(

Happy to spend within reason if it takes the problem away. Would be more miffed if I spend good money on a solution and it fails anyway. These are 3 I've found but no mention of whether they are the spitfire kit. £420 http://www.elise-sho...2aa14c0952b96c3 £420 also - maybe the same kit? http://www.elisepart...e-toe-link-kit/ £275 http://www.elisepart...l-toe-link-kit/

The 'which toe link kit' is a question I'd like answered.  I really like the Nitron one with the different theads on the joints.  I believe that rather than one RH and one LH thread they have two the same but with different pitches so the adjustment is finer.  It's a little academic thoughas I don't believe Nitron make them anymore.  The spitfire ones look the best available kit to me although I do have a few issues in that my subframe doesn't have the locating slot parts

You need to have it milled from carbon carbon panels from the leading edges on the space shuttle. Using only 26 year old virgins as the engineers.
