Well, what a crap job, trying to get the tips lined up is an episode in itself....as someone stated earlier in the group buy the tail pipe clip is a mare, wonder just how tight you can go on it. Plan some time if your tackling this as a novice.

Thats an understatement ive been on with mine all day basically fitting without the heat shield to get an idea of where i need to modify/cut the shield absolute nightmare currently got it in place but no way i can get the tailpipes plumb bit disapointed at mo as was expecting a better easier fit !! Looking at it at moment the hanger brackets are higher than the shield level:-( the u bend from cat pipe is actualy more than 180 degrees so the silencer does not run parallel to the subframe gona just shut the garage door and have a beer and have another go tomorrow
Had 1 last go and now managing to get it something like however still cannot get the tail pipes plumb. Basically the silencer section was not sitting level and ran up from left to right obviously this affects the plumbness of the tail pipes I see the tail pipe section has some adjustment at the clamp but not enough for me to get plumb Mamaged to level the silencer section up by twisting while locking the clamps so thought id cracked it but still not plumb Just looking at the tail pipe and doesnt look right ! To try and explain imagine the section is exactly horizontal then the 2 outlets are out of plumb by approx 10mm should it be like this

I've had to play around with the bends quite a lot and use the sliding joints to align it correctly, the tailpipes piece clip is pants though, looks easier with no clam though

Should be very easy -But just look how offset the two tail pipes are !!! too get these plumb i would need to lower the right hand side by some degree which is just not possible !!!!

That was one of my issues but I managed to overcome that by putting the backbox on a slight angle and playing around with the joints, I got my hair off with it, from underneath I pushed the left side pipe up and it seemed to settle perfect. Keep playing and you will get it.

Adam, I presume you fitted it with the rear clam on? Edit- doesn't matter. Just read your earlier post properly. I'll be tackling with clam on too.

Just cant see how i can get it plumb - Obviously the hangers determine what angle the backbox lies at - i.e to change he angle i would have to shim up or reduce the hieght of one of the hangers - If he tail pipes were not as offset i would be fine ill try and post a pic to show how the tail section would need to be to get it plumb

The slip fittings provide infinite adjustment on the angle it sits at.

Here are a few more pics - If the tailpipe offset was the otherway around it would be absolutely spot on ???!!!!

Yeah i know but its not infinite i.e will only allow so much adjustment and it is nowhere near enough

Could it be a manufacturing defect on your one?

I must admit to get mine aligned it did sit a bit crap in that clamp, wasn't what I was expecting from a £700 back box, keep us all updated on your progress.

I had to rotate the back box so its up/down not flat to help all the joints fit better and it also stops the exhaust tips pipe catching the back exhaust box.

I didn't buy my larini in this group buy but just recently had mine put on by a mechanic friend, and my tail pipes are pissed, glad I'm not the only one, getting the clam off at the weekend, I got some other jobs to look at under there anyway

Sounds like a manufacturing jig fault. As above for £700 you would hope it was correct. My Tullet had to be re welded to fit properly so not just a Larini problem.
