£100 for a single standard camshaft? Isn't that a little optimistic when you can buy a whole Z20LET engine for £250(which has the same camshafts)?

Almost certain cams the same as the let as the leh, was sooooo long ago I measured mine I cant remember. The older inlet cam off z20xe is the one people sometimes use as an upgrade. The xev one is also used but sure I remember it needing timing half a tooth so the pulley needs sorting So afraid its not really an upgrade just a spare. In the past I have seen a few sets of std cams go for 50-100. Hope this helps to clarify DG

Easy really, just go on eBay, and offer that to the 40 hopefuls trying to repeatedly sell their Z20LETs for £500 for 6 months the trot... I bought a Z20LET for £300 over 5 years ago (when there were far fewer around). The market is now flooded with them cos the 10s of thousands of Astras and things they were put in are coming to end of life. The XEV inlet cam is the one that is more desirable, it lifts the inlet valves and extra 1mm, but as Duncan says, it needs advancing about 8 degrees, which would require a vernier pulley and bit of fiddling. In standard Z20LET factory tune, the gains are around 8 BHP mid range and about 4 BHP top end.
