Ali's oil cooler failed on Brum so she swapped it out.  I'm guessing the replacement is fooked too.  Must be some dodgy parts supplier

Ali, I have a Mocal laminova cooler on mine but not sure if we went for 'normal' fittings etc.

I can try and dig out the details on the invoice etc when I get home, or Lee might know off the top of his head if he sees this thread?

Not that again?  :(

The thermostat was fooked and I don't know if i've broken the 2nd cooler now :/

I know the water pump is working.

I've currently got the water connected up to the cooler as normal but have the oil connected up to itself, bypassing the cooler.  When I ran the car up to temp, a tiny tiny bit of steam was coming out of the oil holes on the cooler, but I can't be sure if that's a bit of water left from where I poured some in to see if it was cracked (with it off the car).

Currently it's not losing coolant and the oil is still oily, so i'll run it up to temp a couple more times - if the oil stays oily then it's the cooler, if the oil goes like milkshake then it's getting in inside the engine.   i think.

Sorry Ali, couldn't find my invoice in my haste to get out of the house and to the office this morning. I'll try and dig out over the weekend (had hoped Lee might have piped up by now anyway)

Better late than never eh Ali...

Anyway, dug out my invoice yesterday, promptly forgot to bring to work. Didn't make that mistake today.

I ordered an Oil/Water Mocal cooler with -10JIC/M38 fittings.

I think my cooler is a non-standard length though. Part no (bought through ThinkAuto) was C43-330710-M38 if that's any help. Think there are some pics of it towards the end of my project thread.

HTH,

G

It wasn't an easy job and cost allot of pennies to do G man went the expensive way you don't need all the fittings he had you must be able to get it to fit the standered oil pipes Ali

I wish it was just a lot of pennies...

A lot of pounds. Still, Lee did the job nicely!

Ok, so G's aren't the standard VX fittings then?

For anyone following this, it's not a straight swap. I'm back to trying to find out what the female fittings on the hoses are so I can buy an adaptor :S
