Just done my first test day today, only me and one other car there. We were never out at the same time so had loads of perfectly clean laps. Plus you can time the laps too so great for my needs. Really got a good chance to learn some setup. £75 for the day, bargain.

Teesside Autodrome up north. Not the biggest track (I was lapping in the high 49s) but quite a technical one. I only really went to test my new LSD. Had a decent play with roll bars and tyre pressures. The do days every Monday and Tuesday.

Some of the Castle Coombe "privateers" days are just £100 a pop on weekdays, barely more than 8 cars on at time.

Yes it is a cart track, the biggest one in Europe. They have been running car and bike trackdays there for about 10 years.

Sounds good for £75. Did you learn anything about set up?

Mainly there is always a compromise when you are right on the edge. As an example I was getting decent understeer on two corners so I used a softer front bar which made those corners faster but my turn in wasn't as good so I lost more than I gained over the lap. Also when I put the really hard bar on the car lift a front wheel clear off the floor in high g turns 😊
