I fitted the new fuel pump assembly today, the one which comes with a free tank  :P

Mr JG is quite correct, it's almost totally silent and my engine runs so much smoother too  :D

ps: And before anyone asks, the fuel pressure stayed the same - 3.5 Bar on my ITB set up.

Would it be that difficult to open a new fuel tank and modify it to make it able to feed fuel to the pump when turning left? I imagine all it takes is an alluminium sheet and one or two check valves... Even a simple aluminium sheet with some 2mm holes would do the trick?

Would be so much cheaper... Found this image from pro alloy http://www.proalloy....DPIC-1107-2.jpg (can't upload files don't know why)

Thanks Batman but I don't think I can afford it! lol  Maybe I should start a new topic about modifying standard fuel tank to make it anti surge?

Almost forgot, VSE has arrived friday so next weekend i'm going to install it. Old backbox is out and pre cat is being removed!

Very dangerous site, at least for the credit card. Had to buy a fuel tank just in case.

Are the steel tanks still as good as new?

I took mine out and refurbed it recently (ground off any rust and repainted it all with hammerite), but I'm wondering if I should just scrap it and replace it with one of these

It would certainly be interesting to open it up and put some fuel starvation protection in it too.

I purchased what I thought were NA shocks from motorsportauctions.  I have received what the part number identifies as VXR shocks.  Lotus are saying they are the same as the NA shocks.

Can the knowledge of .org please confirm if this is correct?

Thanks

As a few of us discovered with the gear cables I don't think much research is going into the listings. So for future purchases anything N/A or turbo specific may be worth an email to confirm part numbers.

I confirmed with Graham late last week that the units with the springs pre fitted are for an N/A as I'm considering getting a set to replace mine. Do we know if this p/n will fit? Any one installed a set yet? In fairness to Graham and the Lotus store, I had a slight problem (storage defect) with my soft top and Emailed him yesterday. He responded last night and resolved the issue this afternoon, so I'd say the response and aftersales is very good.

This site is dangerous for my wallet... I also bought a soft top which is really nice, then had a rash credit card moment and have a hard top on its way to me. The top looks furry lined not plastic, are there different trim levels? Also I assume there's no difference between NA and turbo hardtops? Can't trial fit it for a couple of weeks because Dinglberrys at Joe's getting a bionic gearbox upgrade!
