[font="arial, sans-serif;"]If you are not familiar with the Lotus Europa[/font] S it is a mid-engine light weight performance car that uses the highly acclaimed Lotus Elise aluminium chassis and composite body.
[font="arial, sans-serif;"]The Europa[/font] S however has a number of benefits over the Elise in that it has a 2 Litre Turbocharged GM engine putting out 199 BHP as standard along with considerably more torque so that driving it at speed is far less frantic. It has more creature comforts (improved dashboard, seats/upholstery, air-con, Sat Nav, electric windows etc) with more room for entry and exit and a reasonable size boot (for this type of car).
[font="arial, sans-serif;"]The handling remains superb as you would expect from Lotus, however it is a little more composed on the bumpy back roads than some of the other models.[/font]
[font="arial, sans-serif;"]This particular Europa[/font] S has had subtle enhancements to considerably improve its performance and soundtrack. The standard car was deliberately de-tuned so as not to snap on the heels of the fasterExige model but the result was that it was short of its potential and it had a very subdued exhaust note.
[font="arial, sans-serif;"]This Europa[/font] S has been professionally modified by the very reputable ‘Thorney Motorsports’ to give approximately 235 BHP and it has a much improved full flow sports exhaust. There is a link to a video of the exhaust sound below.
