Self Installation Supercharger Kit

I would like to install a supercharger kit for myself, I collect all the info on this wonderfull site but i miss to understand the force needed to screw all bolts; for example the N needed for the manifold on the engine, the eaton on the manifold, the braket for the manifold on the engine. I don't want accidentally cause damage to the engine. Please help me to find this info.

Parts are from the GM LSJ engine, so torque should be similar. http://www.cobaltss....ratings-193753/

Other question for you guys and sorry if it is so stupid: Where is originally fitted the Brake vacuum hose that shall be connected to the supercharger? In other words where is this pipe on my 2.2 OEM ? Thanks!

LSJ has thicker screws for the inlet manifold than the Z22SE. So, LSJ torque is perhaps to much

Hello, I'm trying to clear my head on the sensor connection to be made and ask you to confirm as below : 1 ) buy sensor Bosch 0261230042 2 ) retrieved connector ( not yet come, I hope everything goes well ) http://www.mesconnet...na-con-flangia/ 3 ) provide a single wiring , as indicated in the manual of OBD tuner that takes 4 signals from the new sensor and send them to the old wiring 3 of the MAP currently installed and 2 others to the old wiring of the sensor on the intake . 4 ) the sensor on the compressor , after the throttle body is not needed and should be closed ( in some way ) 5 ) should be indicated to the control unit that the new MAP sensor is the Bosch 0261230042 . End. Sorry if I do these trivial questions , thank you .

Yes to all the above.

 

Take note that the original 3 wire MAP sensor and the 2 wire Intake Temperature sensor both have a ground wire. The new TMAP sensor has only 1 ground wire, so you will have 1 ground wire left over after the TMAP conversion. ;)

1) how I can identify the pin number 8 in the blue connector x2 for the pump signal?

I'll do the easy one.

 

2) This is the crank case breather pipe. Most vent this to fresh air by using a pipe down to the back of the under tray or to a catch tank then fresh air. Don't use a filter on it as it just gets clogged up and you'll be cleaning it every two minutes.

 

I can't remember what 3) is but I don't have one so I guess it's part of the EGR(?) If so, the EGR is removed as part of the SC install so it goes in the bin.

Think number 3 is fuel evap solenoid - needs vacuum from manifold some where. Crank breather should be filtered iirc because it can suck as well as blow 😆

Connect the fuel evap pipe to the brass fitting on the throttle body

Not really. The breather will only ever vent blow-by crank case fumes out. This contains enough vapor that condenses once it leaves the engine and clogs up a filter pretty quick. This will increase crank case pressure until the dip stick blows out! There are loads of posts about crank case ventilation on SC installed cars. I put a filter on mine originally but now run a catch tank and fresh air.

have you opened up the PCV orifice in the inlet manifold to the head ??

You need a tester and find the pin This is how I did it

The question was about the crank breather. How many SC installers have kept a PCV? :P
