Car has delevoped a bad vibration from the rear passenger side, almost feels like something is stuck on the rear tyre, and it clunks as it goes round. There seams to be a lot of oil/grease around the inner driveshaft boot area. Rear hub has been replaced, and the vibration seems to get better when i take the car out of gear but still going forward. Iv taken it to my local MOT place that I trust, and they looked at balancing the rear wheel again, but it was fine. Does this all point to the rear oil seal giving out and need replacing, or the driveshaft, or both?

Sounds like the diff to me. I had exactly this and that's what it was
Seems to have got worse recently, and when i go around a roundabout, i can hear waht sounds like something flapping about abit. Im guessing the diff is a gox off job.

Its still there on a balanced throttle, doing 50-60mph, its quite bad in 5th, and i knock it out of gear, and it seems to go away. Hub was replaced recently, and when i checked it the other day, all seemed well with that. Is the CV joint near the oil seal area? Iv cleaned up alot of grease/ oil around the inner boot area, as well as the inside of the rear passenger wheel

Have you had the wheel off lately? The old ABS bracket hitting a wheel weight is a good one.
Wheel weight is in on piece, and looks untouched to me. Iv also got 17" rears, so hope its not that

The inner boot is secured to the inner CV joint at the larger end and is there to hold in the grease for the joint. If it's grease you've been clearing up, rather than much thinner (red/orange) oil, then it's more likely to be the CV joint. Mine knocked like a good 'un at an Anglesea National a few years back, especially when the nearside loaded up under cornering.

Yes, going round roundabouts (of which there are alot in MK), it sounds worse. Could it be a new driveshaft job then? Autovaux the best place to get one?

Pm Paul CP I think he may still have my old drive shafts for sale only done 40k , Be quick as he is on the French Frolic soon
Did you replace yours for new? Mine has only done 50k,so a little surprised, but just spent a fortune on the plastic box of joy, so any savings would be welcome if possible
