I've* fitting a Larini and removed the pre-cat, which sounds great. However, the car now occasionally suffers from hesitation at low revs, for example when approaching a roundabout. It sounds like the car is only running on 3 cylinders for a few seconds and is then fine again.

It's did it once on a short test drive after doing the work on the car, and then twice more when I went on a longer drive.

Any idea what could be causing it?

Car has short term fuel trims which will need adjusting now the exhaust is different (particularly removing pre-cat). I'd keep an eye on it and see if it's there after 100 miles.

Ok, thanks. The 70 miles to Snetterton at the weekend is the next time I'll get to try it properly...

I can chuck about 80 miles on it by going to meetings in Welwyn Garden city this week

Having read a similar thread on here, it turned out to be a cracked spark plug insulator..

As it seems to only happen at low revs, there must be something particular about the load to cause it. Initially I thought it could have been the EGR valve playing up as it started to misfire when warm, but then didn't happen often enough to be the EGR valve.

Thanks for the offer ;)

I'm going to "work" from home on Wednesday so that I can put some miles on it before the weekend
