i'm just saying in my experience the 1 inch roll bar on full stiff didn't work for my car.what's how 'fast' I am got to do with the subject?
"The way I see it, the ARB needs to be matched to the springs. At present it's too stiff for my springs, which isn't quite what scuffers said."
Having tried this myself I don't agree with Scuffers either, there are a lot of quick people out there that don't agree as well.
ARB full stiff is not the solution for all setups... IMO
you clearly don't have a clue, and are now just dropping names you think mean something into the discussion.
if you actually want to learn something, listen to what's being said, and then try and relate that to how suspension works, not just parrot crap you have managed to get some random person to say.
I have said this before, but my VX example is Gearys VX, it;s a std NA car with quantums and 1" arb, everybody who has driven this has commented on:
1) how nice it rides (considering the spring rates)
2) how well it handles on std road tyres without understeer/oversteer etc.
I suggest you actually speak to people that have driven it (like Max/Lee/Graham/etc etc) and ask them if they think it's 1" ARB at full still causes understeer.
Randy doesn't agree with your 1 inch ARB on full stiff on all setups mantra either.... But I guess he clearly doesn't have a clue either...
I did listen to you I tried it and I found I didn't like it!

Lol! As has been pointed out already, just adding one to a car with problems is not going to make it work. My guess is your cars already a disaster area...
Well Randy doesn't call it a "disaster area" lol
But then what does he know!

Firthy,
DaveE & I both had Randy Spec 46's. We both have reasonable track experience & ability. Both of our cars have been fettled by different so called "Specialists." Hoffman spec 46's are not as good on track as Quantums or for that matter NTR 40's in our experience. I am not supporting any individual or company & do not owe anyone a favour & I wouldn't support a product if it wasn't a marked improvement. But, I can honestly say that my car has NEVER been setup for track use better than it is now. The setup is set to 1" full Stiff, it is easy to drive at or above the limit & is totally predictable & doesn't understeer. I now do not get ANY wheel spin powering out of corners like I did with the "Randy" spec dampers. I thing you'll also find that DaveE has similar good words to say about his setup which MBR carried out.
There are many variables which need to adjusted to make up a good setup. As Scuffer's has said, throwing on a 1" Arb on full stiff may exacerbate any deficiency in your setup, rather than curing a fundamental issue you may have. Clearly, if you purchased a 1" Arb for your car, then you're not happy with something about your setup?

Its just my opinion... perhaps I'm not allowed to have one... It certainly seems that way.

Yeah, of course everyone has a right to an opinion. I'm not asking you to stop posting & I'm sure you're right that your 1" arb is better not on the stiffest setting.
But, there may be a good reason for that due to your overall setup. I strongly believe everyone tends to run their car's too low which greatly impacts on the geometry/ bump steer which has an overall detrimental effect on handling which no Arb or for that matter damper will resolve fully. There, that's my opinion!

it stopped being your opinion when you started to name-drop trying to justify your views.
As Scuffer's has said,
Name dropper, no ones allowed to mention names
that's quoting somebody on this thread (ME!), name dropping is when you use a 3rd party's name and rep to bolster your stance.

Yes I totally agree I'm name dropping, its because I'm asking other people their advice not going purely on your every word.
I did try it first though, and I didn't like the way the car felt afterwards so I spoke to other people with more knowledge than me about it and they agreed with me. One of these guys was Chris Randall.
At least the name drops I'm quoting have a reputation.
Your name drops "(like Max/Lee/Graham/etc etc)" are total nobodies in anywhere else other than this forum. And frankly carry very little weight with me.

Firthy, may I suggest you take whichever advice suits you best, I have no idea who you are or even if I have met you, but clearly you're offended by some of the comments on here. I don't deny that Randy has a well known reputation & that you trust his opinion. So, why don't you seek just his advice with the knowledge that your car has been setup as well as it can be? If others want to give their opinions on this subject, then let them & just shut up! You should also be smug in the knowledge that your car is the best track honed VX on the planet! Perhaps you could upload a couple of videos your perfectly setup car so that I can see what you're taking about?
I didn't think I was being too bad tbh, but if you feel that strongly I will shut up.
The car still needs a few tweaks, but I'm enjoying driving it you have seen the video before.
