Could you not have used a large piece of wood on the underside of the clam, (Bolted through) to spread the load across the back? Damage looks pretty bad, but shows they work

.... The wing I will be honest and say was not a lot of money (fleabag) but I like it and more importantly it is fastened to the panel so no holes in the clam....
Not sure how you've fastened the panel to the car but if its just the two clips at the front I'd be worried about the extra drag the spoiler provides (If fitted just to cover) ripping it all off...
If there's a few more hidden fastenings then it would probably be ok
Hi Tom,
if you look closely at the panel under the spoiler there is a colour coded bolt holding the panel down in the centre, I am at Oulton park on the 30th and i have got it in mind that the spoiler under stress/speed might be to much for the panel so that is why i have fitted quick release bolts to take it of without the aid of spanners if required rather than damage like Chris did,

The one I bought from France is OEM fit no cutting the ClamI like that I would have one myself if it was a easy job of finding one and fitting one
Not sure if you have seen this car Kieran

really? damage is due to drag from the wing, not downforce per say, it's resisting the force that's pulling the wing backwards.

it does go to the subframe, it bolts straight through it. only difference is there is a little piece of clam in between..
as scuffs says, it might be damage due to drag, who knows, it could of been cracked already and the sing just helped it along, the other side is fine.

Sorry but why do people ruin these cars by putting stupid rear wings on them.
Because they are their cars and they do what they like to them

Most to get an advance in cornering on track days or time attack.
Others just want to shine.

I completely agree with you. Cars mainly used for the road with a large ironing board wing, just looks plain naff! A bit like a Vauxhall Corsa low rider limping over a speed bump in Guildford high street. Oh, manufacturers can also get it wrong, whenever I see a 1980's Merc 500 SL with it's stupid black boot spoiler, I just want to throw up. However, for a more track biased car, it can make a noticeable difference, but yes, it still looks naff! I also have an unused JJJ coupe back & roof scoop which I was intending to fit, but it's just way too heavy, so I may part with it. In my humble opinion, it also looks naff fitted on a road car. Sorry, just my 2p's worth. Same goes for plywood front splitter on a road biased car....naff, naff, naff! So, leave your road going VX alone, save your money & buy your mum some flowers instead...🙏🏽Sorry but why do people ruin these cars by putting stupid rear wings on them.

It's a place to put pints on above anything else.
And tools when you are fixing the latest breakage in the engine bay !
