I'm a bit concerned about noise.... Apparently they test at 106-108dB static!

:o

That'll teach you for wishing Evora 1 was louder, more of the time. Looks and now sounds like they really did crash the car into a branch of Ripspeed for the MkII.

It's a shame Lotus aren't in F1 any more. No need for F1 manufacturers to spend millions trying to engineer in some sound, they could have just used Evora exhausts.

Don't recall any static testing at any of the previous 3 years LoT events ?

Where does this info come from Lee ?

No, I mean the 400 tests at that.... I've actually just spoken to the factory... The 400 noise tests @ 109dB static @ 5,500rpm!!

Can't believe they can even get it through type approval at that level.

Type Approval is done with valve closed ;) ie below 5k rpm (or wherever the valve opens).

A friend of mine has had trouble with noise with his Exige S3, he's not best pleased as he bought it for mainly track use. He's not had it in race mode yet on track. So very limiting on what tracks you can go to.

eta/ most track noise meters only go to 110db

...And I thought I had noise problems! The Exige S3 surely is expected to be used on track by most buyers. Lotus you're pathetic!

I did say a couple of months ago that people were having problems with noise with the V6 but a couple of members implied I didnt know what I was talking about. Excessive noise on track with the V6 is a big problem

My mate hasn't found a practical way round it either as the exhaust layout and tailpipe configuration make it awkward.

Most are staying at the NH.

£80 per night if you'd booked back in November.

I am getting more work commissions on the consultancy business , I have a two week booking up at Edinburgh which clashes with this, so rather than loose 10 days work, I think am going to cancel my hotel at Aquarius Pension ( 11th two nights = total euro145 for b+b ) and the trackday , and see if I can get credit for the french frolic.

They have also offered 1 week booking in Yorkshire beginning July, I will be up at Leeds a few days before as well.

I just have to email LoT and see if that works for them, they have a waiting list for Zandvoort , and are short on FF numbers.

Missing out on a good one Steve, but duty calls. I'm currently having similar issues for that week too.
