Nigel might want to go Sequential next year so will probably do a bell housing for the EP 6/7 Speed box so it fits on the z20let/leh. Already fits on Honda K20 and Toyota 2zz, Scuffers is currently doing one for the Audi engine I think.

Matt

I'd be interested in the EP box if it can take the torque and power I'm aiming for. I'll give you a call about the wiring if you think you'd be able to help. I can get any info for the Motec it's just connecting it up to the Z20let sensors, coil and throttle body etc.

Let me put it this way, are you planning on more than this?

How hard can it be...

Harder than you might think, well it's harder than I thought. I'm in the middle of fitting a similar loom to my Adaptronic ecu. I've never touched car wiring before and I am a little shocked that there are so many wires that are the same colour doing different jobs on the standard loom. My advise would be to wire it along side the standard loom so you can constantly refer to the wiring diagram. I chopped my standard loom with the attitude of how hard can it be? Now Adaptronic tech support are my new best friends, luckily they are very knowledgable and helpful!

Not with the current setup what was this coming from and how much running has it done with the sequential box?

That was Jamie's compound charged TA Exige. Did more power than that in the end.

Ran for 2 years prior with 330bhp in SC form.

Enough that if it was going to break, it would have done so by now.

Hi George, long time sir

How come you chopped the loom? Was there a problem or upgraded to traction control version?

Hope all is well

I had a fault a few months ago where the ECU fuse was blowing because of a short where some wires had chaffed through the insulation. I did a temporary fix and decided that I would relocate the ECU to the cabin this winter. I have removed all the unused wiring and plugs from the loom keeping it simple and making rear clam removal possible.

I have done a couple of looms and it takes ages! I have plugged into X2 and X3 on the main loom and other sensors etc straight into the Adaptronic ecu. This also enables the OE ecu to be connected to X2 and X3 so that opcom can be used to communicate with the brakes etc. I have also moved the relays to the cabin which as George says makes rear clam removal a lot easier. I have also used a different coil with built in ignitors.

Don't expect much change from £15K

Is that needed for Opcom to function for ABS & Airbag? These both use different wires on the OBD connector...  But maybe it's needed for the start-up of OpCom...  (Not sure if I ever used the Opcom on my LSJ-ecu Speedster. :-/ )

There are connections between the ECU to the airbag and ABS. I don't know the reason but perhaps something to do with the comunication between opcom and the airbag etc that the ECU is needed in the circuit. It communicates when the ECU is in circuit but doesn't without! Dave

Anyone know a supplier for the correct plugs for the important parts if possible i don't want to use any of the old loom I'd rather make a new one from scratch I don't fancy trying to connect bits of 10 year old loom to the brand new Motec one, even just new pins for the old plugs?

The ecu probably has some pull up or downs to make the abs/airbag k-line to work..... Probably easy enough to frig. Pole volt, vwp, farnell and rs should see you right unless there are Delphi connectors in which case you're buggered and need them from the USA
