Hi guys

I'm new to the forum, but an old hand from SELOC / Exiges... just heard about the GB

I'm interested in a long range tank for an Exige S240 MY 2010

Are there +VE / -VE's to the different sizes apart from cost?

Would need it in Dubai UAE, OK?

Hello, One is bigger one is smaller depends how much fuel you want to carry around with you :) Dubai is ok but postage will be extra :)

Are both equal in terms of fitment ease? Fuel gauge accuracy? Fuel surge suppression?

Any idea about Dubai freight cost?

Pm me your address please The 60L is a little harder because it's much bigger. Have to make sure all the wiring etc is tucked well out the way. Both have anti surge foam and one way valves in and run original fuel gauge

Looked at the website but found no header tank for the VX. I'm thinking about the tank normally used for SC charge cooling that I know (think) I've seen before. Does it not exist or has it been removed?

Didn't know there were two different ones but I think I mean "racing fab one". As shown in Smileys thread

Was looking for a plastic, more oem look, tank for my build but if I can get a proven solution at a decent price I just might get it.

How much would that set me back, incl shipping to Sweden?

Still in doubt: 60 or 48 liter tank. Am a bit put off the 60 liter due to the mentioning of difficult of installation in the S1. Any more thoughts on the decision? Additional weight is not an issue: just don't fill it up to the brim in case of a track day :) . Extended range of 60 liter is favorable on weekend trips to Germany.

How long is the installation time of such a tank? I assume its a matter of:

- depressurizing fuel lines by pulling fuel pump fuse and starting until fuel starvation,

- removing LH seat, removing pump cover, disconnecting fuel pump wires and fuel pipes,

- lifting car, taking off under trays, hand brake cables,

- removing LH wheel + arch liner, disconnecting fuel hoses from filler neck,

- removing tank bay plate, drop tank

- tape up any cables/ wires inside fuel tank bay,

and then reinstall in reverse order.

Roughly 2 ~ 3 hours assuming to bolts are not spinning etc?

It's probably only extra half hour on top of a 48L installation

I want to replace the 1997 fuel hoses from the filler neck to the tank at the same time. Are the standard type remained, regardless of the 48 or 60 liter?

Anyone can share experience with the 60 l version?

And I assume the fuel level reading is off when the bigger tank is installed and the Stack just indicates full for a long time? So its better to focus on the trip milage to have an indication?

The fuel level is the same but it will say full until it goes into range. Do you want to have internal pump still? If you want external pump then you can have AN fittings on the side of the tank and just use the fuel pump canister for fuel level you will the. Need to run all new lines

Not unless you change the stack so it reads properly.

How is this done, changing the stack? And I assume something has to change to the fuel level sensor too? So it can reach the entire fuel level range?

I intent to retain the OEM fuel pump set-up inside the tank.

Not worth the effort in my mind

and pointless too, unless you get a new sender that you can fit to the deepest part of the tank and calibrate the output to suit. If your in-tank pump and sender fit in the original shallower position, it'll just read full until the extra capacity is used up whatever you fit.
