You making the trip on Sunday?

leaving italy very early morning, picking up the car saturday evening upon arrival, (maybe even sneaking a coupla test-laps, ring being open 18,30-19,30), and then sun+mon... :P

I've heard the exige thing, sure enough 048 put a much bigger strain on all the linkages...and that toe link is quite prone to meltdown like butter on a hot toast...

couple more pics, and a good report, here:
http://www.jwhubbers...p33/trip33c.php

might want to try out a bit less toe-out on the rear Ricky ;)

Damn...Another good weekend missed. Won't be getting to Frankfurt again till at least December. It'll be horrible and rainy by then though :( Next year? Glad you had a good time guys. Look foreward to seeing the Top Gear program.

Review quote:
"...new track announced in GT4 – the infamous Nurburgring. At 20 kilometres long, it takes Nissan’s top test driver 8 minutes and 15-20 seconds to do a complete lap. The time it takes for him to do a complete lap under the same conditions in GT4 is within 5 seconds of the real track. That’s a 1% variance. Sony claim that the track is accurate at any point to within 15mm. I got a headache just trying to mentally divide 20 kilometres by 15mm, let alone figuring out how long it would take to map the track data to that level of detail."

Saw this car earlier in the year and wondered if it had anything to do with GT4 development.

No. That's the german car mag, "SPORT AUTO" 's NSX that was entered in the Nurbürgring 24hour race. GT4 are just sponsors – they had banners everywhere at the Tuner Grand Prix and Drift Challenge at Hockenheim too, which was also organised by "SPORT AUTO".

Yeah, I've finished Prologue :) Had a lot of fun in the racing NSXr – and liked the balance of the standard NSX (so much more forgiving than the MR2) – that's one of the reasons why I recently test drove an NSX. Nearest to the Speedster in Prologue is the Elise Sport 190 – though it is a little less forgiving. Looking forward to virtually driving the 'Ring on GT4 in the Speedster thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

My next purchase will be the >Logitech Driving Force Pro< wheel with 900° rotation that is made for GT4. Prologue is good with my current normal Driving Force wheel – GT4 with the Pro version should be sensational! B)

BTW, TOCA 2, which is due out soon for PS2 and is another "must have" for petrolheads, also supports the Driving Force Pro – will get that ASAP to bridge the gap until GT4 is – at long last :sleepy: :drink: – released.

welcome Ben - wasn't sure it was you at first, kindof looks like a proper left hand drive car :)

Speedy - huh, didn't know you could "unlock" other cars in Prologue - I assume by doing the driving school? We just hammered the Race Evo and old school celica around the grand canyon course, Skyline around NYC, and I had some good laps of the Japanese course in the 240Z :)
Will definitely be going full boat with the Logitech wheel when I go back to the states for good next June, from Christmas till then the analog joystick will be enough to get me my Ring fix :D

cheers
Kurt

those folks in the convoy were doing pretty well, considering it was their first time or so at the ring.... true, that claimed 8,11 after 6 laps is quite.... , unless the driver is Villeneuve (dad) reincarnated....

man I'm so pissed off, can't find the firewire cable to get videos into my computer!!! I've got a bunch of them from the Ring, and can't do a damned thing with them except watch them on the tiny camcorder LCD screen, with a busted speaker no less. Still can tell the lap in your car came out quite well!

If you've got a mini dv, be happy to mail you the tape. Looks like I'll have to buy a new cable, and sh!t like that takes 6-8 weeks to get here in Germany, so was planning on getting one when I go home for Xmas.

Let me know
Kurt
