Can't really comment on much of that as I haven't looked at in in detail. What I can say is that the flow out of the bonnet vents tends to slip around the sides of the windscreen/past the side mirrors, and over the hips at the back, it goes nowhere near the roof.

Experience tells me otherwise, the air over the windscreen is warmer than ambient whereas, you got no thermal benefit from air slipping round the sides when the passenger windows were open. As I say, this is all circumstantial info. I am always intrigued by computer modelling and have no experience in using it / testing its validity... But given how sensitive all applications of maths is to the finest of details I just worry that any solid block modelling could be wildly inaccurate. If you are going to the trouble of trying to do it properly, then solid block modelling could be wasted time, if not done correctly. Again I am not trying to be a smart arse, just playing devils advocate.

Experience tells me otherwise. I think the model is spot on as regards the airflow out of the bonnet grilles flowing around the sides of the windscreen. You've only got to wind the windows half/two-thirds of the way down on a cold day, to get lovely warm air flowing straight into the car (and more effective than the heater usually ) from the front rad when moving.

Would also be very speed dependent. I'm testing at relatively high velocity.

About vortex generators. On the Evo 8 they have them on the back of roof and I cant believe this air will stay along the surface (rear window)?! I thought you used them exactly like on the speedster. If you have a cupe back you wont need them. Br, Per

Vortex generators help flow stay attached... to a surface. There is no surface on the standard rear clam, ie nothing to stay attached to. Vortex generators will do SFA. A longer roll bar cover (mini coupe back) would help somewhat, bringing the flow down a bit. A proper coupe back would be better.

A vortex generator helps reduce flow separation from a surface, and improves the angle of attack of a surface before aerodynamic stall. It is exactly designed to help air stick to the rear window of an evo (how effective it is, I have no idea. On production evo's it's probably mostly a cosmetic thing). On wrc cars it def improves function of the wing element. On a vx coupe back, they would be of definite potential benefit. Sticking them on to the rollbar cover of a std vx on the other hand, will achieve SFA. As I said, no surface = no function (Only 'non aerodynamic stall' application I have seen is some company promoting them on the trailing edge of truck trailers. From memory they claim the induced vortices reduced drag behind the truck. I'm not even sure if that's true or just marketing spin).

I quite like the panda scheme :) And style wise, the exige sport spoiler does match the lines of the car really nicely. What's the front splitter? (The one above the plywood part?)

Deffo get a low final drive in your gearbox or 5th gear will be useless apart from cruising, doubly so if you increase rolling rear wheel diameter size. This is one of my regrets from when I had the box open, as my car does 160 MPH in 4th gear alone, so 5th is wasted.

Looks like a nice project. Do you have all the gaskets you need for the supercharger kit? They aren't in the photo.

Nope. Although to be fair gaskets are usually the last thing I buy as I'm screwing things together. They usually just get lost or bent if they sit around too long :) Just got offered a set of basically new nitron 46mm 3-ways with ex. reservoir and 550/700 springs for about half rrp. Still obscenely expensive, but oh so tempting. So tempting!

M63 gaskets will need to come from US, so don't wait to long with ordering.

Thems the ones, just not the price :) A hefty chunk over my budget nonetheless, and I'm not 100% set on it. But tending towards 'just buy them'. You get a lot for your money, and they're a lot better shock than the things I was looking at around 1200-1500. Need an appropriate wife diversion... Hmmm
