I didn't have many decent pictures previously, but after tinkering today managed to get some of the splitter on and off the car.

This is a full length carbon fibre splitter from Ultimate Carbon. The underside is made from a hybrid carbon/kevlar material to make it stronger yet slightly flexible. Finished in gloss lacquer.

They have 3 left remaining and in stock. Price is £225 including postage.

Bad pics (in the dark garage) but this is the same splitter and how I attached it (and reinforced the lowest parts) I also covered the front in Helitape to minimise the chance of it cracking. Though it does flex more than I expected, the Kevlar I guess.

Personally I'm very pleased with it.

Boxes of paper are the best axle stands in the world. Plus work supply them, so free! :D

Not a spacer. It's there to add bracing to the lip. It's glued on to both the base and lip.
The bolt is right through the front clam so the wood acts as a giant washer to stop the bolt pulling through and also ensures the wood won't come off in an impact.

It looks (is) a bit crude, but should be very effective.

You've got the grain in the wood going the wrong way for the forces that may be applied to the splitter

You know I just thought the same while uploading the pic. Still it should be a lot stronger than nothing.

Just for clarity, the splitter doesn't come with blocks of wood. That's an optional extra ;)

My immediate reaction too.  For the price it looks insubstantial, and the fact you've needed to reinforce it would indicate that's true.  Also the profile is such that it doesn't look as if it will do much to serve its intended purpose?

You know that if you hadn't pointed it out then nobody would have noticed.

The idea behind this splitter is it acts like an air damn, there was a picture of some of the test data somewhere from when Thorney developed it. Mine (one of FLD's) wasn't attached very well in the middle and would open like a mouth at speed. No fault of the manufacture process I might add. I put additional fasteners in it and all seems ok now. Whether the increase in drag is worth it I'll never know, I just like that it looks like it's supposed to be there and doesn't jut out enough to catch every little bump.

What sort of height clearance is there between the bottom of the splitter and the ground? I know it'll depend on wheels, suspension etc. I'd like one, but not sure if it's too low for around my area/the speed mountain to get into work.

I've just been and measured mine. The depth of the splitter (at the deepest point) is 50mm. The clearance I have in my garage (so flat surface) is around 65mm. To put into context my car is lowered on Nitron NTRs and sat on TDs. I hope that helps :D

I'm interested in one of them. The postage included is for UK or could be to Europe too? Spain in my case. Thanks ;)
