So what happens to Farage/UKIP now? Do they pack up shop and head off to pastures new, now they've got the result they formed for?

Honestly not sure on that one. I don't think ukip will fold as I think they're no longer a protest vote and may be useful in keeping the other established parties honest. As for Nigel well I suppose he's still got at least a couple of years left giving the European Parliament a hard time.So what happens to Farage/UKIP now? There it is. It's official. No way Remain can win.

Ha ha, hope the bookies took a hammering. I'll be taking back my tenner at 8/1 leave. Watching the BBC at 10pm last night you'd have thought it was all over for Leave. Watching BBC now it's just excuses why people voted leave - politicians still aren't getting it. Silent majority wins.1/6 remain 4/1 leave

Exactly this. Don't blame people that voted leave, blame the people on the BBC this morning with faces like slapped arses, Vaz, Ummuna, Osborne et al who threatened us with everything except death and pestilence. If this referendum tells me one thing it's that the British people don't take well to bullying and threats. If remain had run a positive campaign they may have had a better shot. GAME OVER

I'm still genuinely in shock, just like the markets.
...The markets are down drastically. (40 years worth of EU contributions worth!)
Let's hope all the financial forecasts & predictions are wrong otherwise this country will go backwards for a long time before markets start improving.

And just to add some further instability, the PM resigns, by the sound of it.

He was the one who offered the general public an EU membership referendum as a knee-jerk reaction to perceived UKIP gains during the general election, and subsequently failed to campaign against it. I don't see how he has an alternative.
(However please don't let it be Boris)
