Sociodemographic bands was used in this measure: AB, etc

I know that. I'm saying that because someone is "educated" it doesnt mean they have a clue what they are doing or why they are doing it

The voting profile: http://media.fyre.co...hcroft data.JPG The older and less educated voted out. As a nation we can't blame them, we must take responsibiltiy. We've created that society, we've (consciously or unconsciously) allowed that to happen. So when people in those demographic groups feel that way, we have to respect it. I imagine they feel marginalised, hopeless, displaced so want a change.

This is beginning to feel a bit like a mud slinging exercise, lets blame the old and the stupid. Yes the data shows a lean towards leave from older and less well educated voters but are we now saying that their voice should not be heard. And lets remember that they could not have pushed leave over the finish line without millions of younger or more well educated voters help. I'm university educated as are many of my friends who also decided that remaining a member of the eu is not in our national interest. Please do not imply that our vote should carry less weight than yours simply because we do not share your point of view.   Not aimed at you dw1, this is just a general response to the rubbish I'm seeing and hearing at the minute.
Yes, mine was not intended to be mudslinging or critical or demeaning.

I agree we can't keep having referendums the vote has been made. We are not out yet as it is not legally binding but it would be political suicide to go against a public vote. It looks like the EU are willing to take some economic pain and give us harsh trade deals to prevent other country's leaving. Company's over here are already preparing to make redundancys that I know of. Project fear worryingly already looks like becoming a reality. I know life will go on and there will be positives as well as negatives but it's still raw at the minute and I can't help thinking we've made a mistake.

Out votes were 17,410,742 and in votes were 16,141,241, a difference of 1,269,501.  Any petition running to more than 100,00 has to be put to Parliament for consideration, this petition only started after the referendum and is already over 1,010, 000 and going up incredibly fast.  With respect, it is not meaningless, if Parliament says yes to another Referendum in the debate which it now has to have, and enough vote to stay then that will stand, that is the democratic process.

Ahh, so you like democracy? But only if it suits? And if in just gets it and the out lot do a petition with a million signatures, do we have another? Or if out just pip it again will the in lot do another until they win and then put a halt on democracy.   Do you realise how stupid you sound.
Couldn't agree more ZB.

The petition for a 2nd Referendum is now up to 870,000 and going up like a lift.  If you are a remain voter or a leave voter having second thoughts get on there and sign the petition, it's not too late to climb out of the worst decision for the UK made in my lifetime.  If you still think it's a wonderful idea ask yourself why Gove does NOT want to be PM, why BJ is back pedalling on Article 50, why Farage now says there is no £350m for the NHS, why Marine Le Pen has changed her Twitter pic to a Union Jack and so on ad infinitum.

what a load of crap we voted as democracy to leave lets make the best of it

the names on the petition are not registered as legitimate , any of the numerous money for tweets/facebook likes/positive feedback companies offer such a service to mass register for these surveys.

Can't believe what a nation of sore losers we have. It really yanks my chain how the remain voters have behaved online over the result saying votes were cast by people who didnt know why they were voting. I know several people who voted remain because they said they didnt want to appear racist and another who said they voted remain because russia wanted to bomb us if we left ! Ireland are going to bomb us again. Nigel farrage would become priminister. Ffs the list goes on for the stupid reasons i heard for remain. Also the ones with loudest cries on facebook appear to mostly be the same ones that said the world would end when the tories were voted in.

I'd still like to know what percentage of 18-24 year olds actually got off their backsides and voted. I've trawled any website and report I can find but if anyone has the figure and a source I'd appreciate it. thumbsup

Not definitive figures but probably as a trend not far off the mark.

Basically if the young were that bothered about it they should've voted.

Thanks for that - although I'm not sure I understand what this means given the statement: "Based on 9+/10 certainty to vote, usually/always votes, voted/ineligible at GE2015"

We are now saving £350 million pounds a week. The population is 65 million.

How about we have a share out?  Give everyone £1 million each.

Then stop all benefit pay outs (saving the country more money, if you blow it all then tough)

People then spend more creating more work.

Job done.

Really?really even at this point people believe that figure? Never mind the drop in the value if the pound and the billions wiped off the stock market in a day. And it's only day 2.

But that was the figure in all the propaganda mail-shots so it has to be true right?
