I think this thread should continue. It will be a good long term Diary of the Brexit progress. Perhaps in 20 years we can look back and all have a laugh!  :poke:

..20 years years time...for feck sake I'll either be kicking up the daisies, or alzeimers would have got the better of me and I'll be swearing black is white and I voted IN IN IN........

..time to end it...although Hairy has the way forward me thinks..as long as he isnt bias ...

Roadmap Plan for UK Departure from the EU

http://thebrexitplan.com/

...even this made me smile..

..still time to end it all....now where is that nearest cliff

..come on mods...what have I got to do to get this thread closed....

It's fun watching Londoners squirm. it was worth the out vote just to see them being screwed over for once instead of them screwing the rest of the country :)

...News today. London property prices have risen by several percent since Brexit. It's now cheaper for foreigners to buy investment properties due to exchange rates. Many are being left empty & fueling prices further & increasing the lack of affordable housing for Londoners.

...Happy Days!

Let's hope Mrs May can sort out the country's mess before Greece overtakes us in the world trade rankings!

I do agree that we now need to get stuck into the EU divorce & make the best of the situation we're in now.

Your attitude has been disgusting throughout every one of your posts and you have come across as a narrow minded self righteous know it all.

Now I have never met you and I hope that your much less self important in real life.

Lots of people have come across very poorly in this topic so its not just you but, here it is. There was NO correct answer to voting one way or the other. No one is wrong. Not you for voting in, and not the people that voted out.

And just so I don't get branded with the "you must be stupid because you voted out, OMG look how much more I know then you" I also voted in.

Actually now I think of it, sh*t we have been blind this whole time! Madmitch for PM, he obviously knows everything.

I was going to ignore this but having slept on it, feel it deserves a reply.

We have never met, spoken or pm'd, I know nothing about you and you know nothing about me, you haven't even looked at my member profile.  So far as I am aware I have never said or written anything unpleasant about you, or for that matter anyone else on this forum.

Having worked in the motor industry, motor sport and historic racing car restoration for 36 years I feel I have some knowledge to contribute although I restrict myself to topics I do know about as there are some seriously clever people on this forum.  The Referendum thread is different though, as you rightly observe 'there is no correct answer' so much what is posted will be either historical or opinion on the future.  The beauty of Forums like this is that we can all air our views and remain friends, or that is how it should be.  To make it work requires tolerance and magnanimity, qualities in short supply these days.

The bitter irony! :D

We finally have control of our own borders and sovereignty and spitfires and will soon be manufacturing Austin Healeys and Frog Eyed Sprites again, but the foreigners have bought all the houses in London, which I suppose makes them locals.

I never said you are any of those things, I was merely commenting that on this topic you "come across" that way, a bad light so to speak. Lots of people have on this topic, including myself, when I was getting bored I just chucked in some casual racism to see if I got any warning points.

I am not sure if your short supply comment was a dig or not but I believe it is not and agree.

My post was a little harsh I admit and apologise, but if it caused people to read back through the things they have written over the last while and realised that they was not as nice as they could have then it could do some good.

I've found this thread really interesting, getting real peoples points of view rather than than that of the press.

Don't argue (too seriously) about politics, when you want to keep at least some friends. :)  Too often, politicians abuse their power for the sake of their own, without having right awareness what impact it can have.

As a foreign EU member located somewhere between Alps and Adriatic coast, I wish we could integrate even heavier. I believe the world would actually equalize itself in some time, so I wish this could happen in a much faster speed than it is doing now. But that's rather utopian, romantic view, I know.

I've been working for a big multi-national company for the last 15 years, indeed business doesn't recognize the same barriers than politics does. Also, you will find very gifted and very stupid people equally distributed around the globe. Nevertheless, some countries carry advantages (historical, resources, know-how, etc) and rightfully tend to protect that.

Anyway, I've been to your country business and visit, too often to count and quite like it.

(one of the worst things to happen was waiter not telling me I ordered two full pints of cider, expecting beer. With my friend, we were trying all of them tap after tap, the waiter knew that and made our self looking a little bit stupid, I bet they were rolling on the floor laughing. :) London Putney hill somewhere).

It's good to get different opinions. I actually agree, that in the future, cooperation & integration of countries will make our world a more stable safer place. Creating bigger opportunities as a collective.

As for your experience in Putney Hill...You're not French are you? :D

Agree,

Date for the debate is September 5th. So all it's done is kick the can a little further down the road fitting Cameron's idea that it will be post their conference with a new PM so that's early October.
