Im just doing a very minor refresh on my Nitron's, as when i removed one damper from the car, i noticed that the O ring had pinched out of the side when a top had had been put in. Iv contacted Nitron, and they told me the spec of O ring is 19mm x 3mm. Now, the O rings iv taken out, seem to be 19mm x 2mm. Iv rung Nitron to makesure, and they have confirmed its is 3mm, not 2mm. Looking at the kit that ES sell, they look like 3mm O rings, but no spec is given. http://elise-shop.com/wishbone-bearing-maintenance-kit-p-502712.html

Was the spec changed maybe, and mine are the old spec?

Having visited Nitron to pick up some mounts, they appear to mix and match parts to minimise duplication. For example, the 40's now use the 46 bracket with wider aluminium shims. I noticed they had changed to a thicker O ring with these than the older ones I had on my 40s.

Cheers Tom, just seemed odd that the O ring was 1mm thicker, and didnt want it causing any issues. Do the bearings need greasing, or are they Teflon coated? Got some marine grease that i was going to use. That is of course when I can get the Circlip that holds the bearing in out. Its a blighter.

Can't remember to be honest - haven't even driven my car since June 2014! Although it's probably worth adding some white grease to stop any corrosion.
