Ive been thinking and tweaking some ideas for an alternative side vent just for a different option to the turbo vent upgrade! I still wanted it to look a little OEM.

This is a prototype so i still have a couple of modifications a couple of mm here and there for a slightly better fit but its not far off. I've only thrown a black primer on for now but I will be getting the final version powder coated.

anyway what do you think?

I quite like it too. It's different but OEM looking. It might look better with a slightly more radiused edge on the vent trim. It might not but its an idea that sprang to mind.

Im going to paint it gloss black to see if its the colour that makes it look unfinished

Looks good! Can't help but think it would look better without the screws though :)

Yeah black and silver didn't look too good The self tappers are temporary but could use black screws to hide them a bit! Not sure I can do it completely screw free! Thanks for all the feedback 👍

I was always going to make ones that had a slight angled lip (Maybe 3cm)  on the outside vertical edge to scoop in more air but not look as bolted on and chavtastic as the turbo ones.

Never got round to it and gave in and fitted the turbo Halfords specials.

It could stick out a couple of cm and still be pretty subtle compared with the turbo ones.

It's funny that was my original design but proved difficult to manufacture due to the curve of the clam! I was struggling to find a way of connecting it all together too! Nice bit of Photoshop BTW 👌

I like the idea of a turbo style vent which doesn't require cutting the clam.

took seconds to do that. Somehwre I have many designs I did years ago but cant find them annoyingly.

If I can help let me know. I always wanted to create a bolt on replacement for the original NA vent.

I like that second design!

Mini turbo scoop.

Maybe it could be done in Carbon Fibre ;)

Or failing that Satin Black looks much nicer than Gloss IMO.
