Where do you have it listed?

http://www.pistonhea...nav/5205240?v=b 14k it looks like not 13

Very nice, similar to the one I looked at but £2.5K cheaper with 40K more miles.

Given that a lot (the majority?!?) of VX owners do a lot of servicing/upgrading of their own car, why is it that whenever Porsches are discussed, all parts are measured by what a dealership would charge? Surely a set of non OEM shocks etc can be had? When I get a Porker, I'll be doing as much of the work on it as I can.

Trouble is, I couldn't even find the dipstick on the Boxster.

Its electronic on the 987 just leave the ignition on before starting and you get a readout on the dash

I love them & I've had a couple of them. They are a proper everyday sports car. I'd take one over a VX anyday if I was using it on the road mostly. They are also damn good on track if you upgrade brake fluid & pads! You won't be disappointed.

Did you have to modify anything else?

I thought that would be the case, I was more making a point that it must be very hard to do any work on the car when you can't see an engine anywhere :)

Does your place do warranties? Porsche's are scaring me a little with engine rebuild costs. Another option I've been looking at is the Z4M, a completely different car I know but still fun none the less.

I wouldnt bother doing a trackday in one. Too heavy on consumables after a VX!

They are great cars they sound mega and the bum warmers are nice at this time of year. Much more day to day useable than VX/Lotus bit dont expect the same driving thrills they just arent here.

That's what I'm worried about, I was in one on Saturday and loved the sound, although I wasn't driving I could tell it didn't handle like the Boxster. I was thinking I could just drift everywhere and buy cheap tyres :) Just as fun as going fast.

Like me there seem to be a lot of Boxster owners still on the VX forum. Why is that ?

Can it be a friendly forum or that we're all a bit sad to have sold the VX's ??

Thats the problem with Lotus cars you are buggered for anything else driving experience wise. Its all noise and bum warmers with other stuff.

I have to agree the Boxster didn't feel as fun as the VX220 but it just felt nicer especially for the 6 hour round trip to Cadwell for a track day. My back is still hurting 11 days on. Also will be handy for my girlfriend to drive that way we could have 2 cars instead of 3. Although my back is feeling a bit better today which is making me contemplate keeping it.

Just like my 996.  Do I trust it - do I fcuk

Especially when it tells me the tank is empty immediately I come off track.  It's just more 'progress' that equals unreliability and dumbing down.

boxster S ,mk1 has both electronic and dipstick

the porsche engine has a dry sump so it should not be a problem with starvation on track and it has 9.5 litres of the stuff

Wow, that's a lot of oil. Dry, sump. That sounds like a proper track engine :)

Although not a boxter, I went from a VXT to a gen 2 cayman . Much more practical to use as a daily but its not as raw and imo dosent feel as much as a occasion as the VX

I'm 6ft and can wear helmet with probax seats. Prefer roof off though.

I'm 5'10"...and a half :P but it's not so much about height it's more a out the head rest pushing me head forwards and straining my upper spine.. Not enjoyable. I've tried cushions but then I get other stability problems.
