I switched to a MOG carbon fibre seat with the Lotus motorsport rails , I am very tall in the back and this allowed me to set the seat to give support and head room.

I do struggle to get a comfy position in the Porsche , I think the clutch is very heavy and this begins the problem with lower back for town driving.

I find probax the least comfortable sears. Obviously everyone's back is different so try some before investing £1200 and the 6 months it will take you to find some

Yorkshire. Normally yes but the Boxster we cant get a proper warranty with the mileage so rightly or wrongly its a trade sale on that one. I might actually keep this one for myself I'm not sure yet!

And a lot higher miles also :) But yes I would rather your spec. I find the suspension button very good. Saying that the one with 27k looks like new inside.

Porsche brakes are a bit of an acquired taste. They feel a bit numb and almost unassisted but they do stop well.

I noticed you had to press hard, I liked that, made heel and toe very easy.. Which sounds very cool when you're braking into a corner. I'm more thinking about pads that won't fade.

They aren't as bad as m cars but to be honest I've never tracked one so not sure how they would perform. Sane rules as ever I guess some decent pads and fluid.

I've tracked a Boxster 3.4s at Castle Combe. As people have said, it feels heavy on track, rolls more through the bends but is still very impressive at & beyond maximum traction. Brake fluid boiled first, pads couldn't cope after 4 short laps & the pedal feel wasn't great. But, I drove it to the track, heated seats on, roof down & home again in the same way. On the road, it was fab, somehow supple, cositting yet firm at the same time. I had it remapped by DMS, which was money well worth spent. Admittedly, the car was new & under warranty??? Anyway, I've owned & driven far more expensive sports cars, but the Boxster is high up there for me on smiles per miles & you can park it anywhere without worrying that some knob will take exception to it. It's a bit like Geary's VX Na. You can drive it at 110 % all of the time, it inspires confidence, makes you feel good & you just can't help but grin continuously whilst driving. Get one & keep your fingers crossed if it's a few years old.

I've been doing a lot of research:

I want the BMW as I miss having an LSD when it's wet, it will hold it's value better than a Boxster S and it's reliable.

I want Jon Seal's car because it has chavvy body work (which I like), PASM, Bose and Porsche Sports Exhaust - although the back box looks standard and the boots need a hoover but that won't take long. It's the M97 engine with 98K that worries me. http://www.pistonhea...nav/5205240?v=b

But I think I should get this car because after all my research I can only find one person who has seen an engine problem with a gen 2 car which seems different to the old problems as all six cylinders were scored when normally bank 2 fails first. The high mileage put's it in my price bracket, but as long as it's in good condition I've never let mileage bother me. http://www.autotrade...w,new&logcode=p

Also if the gen 2 continues to be reliable I'm guessing it will hold it's value better than the gen 1 and 986 Boxster which are very cheap. Probably too cheap for what you're getting but engine rebuild costs put most people - including myself - off the car which must hurt values.

Oh and if the Porsche Sports Exhaust looks the same as a standard one then I apologise Jon.
