What's the verdict on car polishers? Thinking of buying a dual action machine polisher. Can't justify the price of the Meguiar's one at nearly £300  What does everyone else have/use? Seems to be others at half the price e.g. Dodo Juice, Poorboys etc. Any recommendations? ...Other than do it yourself by hand!! :D

Hi bud, I purchased a Kestral DAS pro and there medium paint hardness kit from polished bliss (link below). The polisher is very good and equal to the Meguiars unit. I think there is a lot of "badge" going on with Meguiars unit. I got very good results from the kit, and applied Autoglym HD wax as my end polish. http://www.polishedb...sher-cat10.html

I bought a halfords one last year. Used it once and never again. For me, it's more effective to do this by hand.

Ive got one, cannot remember where I got from, for me it seemed easier to do the car by hand, the vx has too many highs and low bits to get a consistent run, however when I t cutted by old boat it was brilliant and theres no way I would have done that by hand, I use autogym resin polish, ive got two lots of the extra showroom polish, its crap, dont buy it , it left the car hazy,

Having wet sanded and machine polished my car after spraying it there are large section you can do it on easily but just as many where you need to do it by hand or have much smaller pads. If you go for one the kestral mentioned above is a good unit and what I ultimately bought.

Thanks mate. I did see the Kestrel DAS pro but wasn't sure as I hadn't come across them before. I totally agree probably the same/similar unit just different badge... Bit like the lotus and VX

If it was just the VX probably live without one but also want it for my daily. I've got an Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagen which is Rosso Red. Big surface panels which have swirls in so hoping to try and get some of them out and get a nice even finish.
