I wouldnt fcuk about putting a saab engine in.. Just get another 2.2 and swap it over.

Ive got a spare engine which is jo use to me anymore 110k but its only in barry

Ring Andy and ask him to look at it. Me, Luca and most of the south Wales owners use him.

get a secondhand z22se from ebay and get it swapped over, but you should get the chains replaced before they fit the replacement engine, otherwise you will end up with the same problem.

 

15 year old cars running the z22se engine with the original chains is an expensive gamble and there are plenty of cars out there doing just that.

I remember when you did my chains there was no engine rattle but the guides had almost disintegrated!!!

I've got a 48k Mile Z22SE cylinder head available if needed (good condition, just swapped to a SAAB head during upgraditus moment)

 

Valves are all good, just needs cams swapping over.
