Hi All.

Still no luck getting the car to start.

I have replaced the IAT and Crank sensor without any luck.

I borrowed a OP-COM and can see all parameters, but I can not see what is causing the error. No errors are reported.

The OP-COM shows values, but I do not know if they are within expected range or not - Anyone having a printout of values that suppose to work? i.e. some sort of reference to a working condition?

I see that the MI indicator is on, but no reasone why.

I also see that the fuelrelay are inactive, but still no indication on why....

Any experts on OP-COM around... ;)

P.

Ecu flash memory corruption would fail the checksums. You would have rewrite the map back. The symptoms are when you turn key in ignition you would hear nothing from engine, no throttle clicking or fuel pump.

Interesting. I hear the throttle clicking when turning key into ignition, but not the fuel-pump (and no pressure in the rail)

After a few seconds, the extra cooling pump starts...

okay , the click click of the throttle body means it is not the ecu software then.

if you short the relay connection for the fuel pump do you get it to prime ?

Do you see an RPM signal on cranking the engine?

Think OpCom can show the various sensors under "Measuring Blocks" or something similar

Actually, I tried to emulate a crank yesterday by running a metal piece in the drill in front of the crank sensor, but I didn't get any RPM in the OP-COM.

Probably something here. I have changed the crank sensor, but it might be something on the way into the ECU or the ECU itself...

If I short the fuelrelay, the motor gets primed, but does not start anyhow - guess that the signal for the injectors does not get through if other conditions not met.

If you suspect the ECU is still not seeing a crank sensor signal then you can double check in the measuring blocks using op-com (as mentioned above) while you turn the engine on the button. If its still not showing any engine RPM while cranking then it sounds like a crank sensor to ECU wiring issue, given that you have already replaced the sensor.

Hi again.

Long time between the service oppertunities...

I have now checked the cables and I see the signal on the X connector into the ECU, but the ECU does not see any RPM from the CPS.

I assume a faulty ECU, but do not know if this is fixable or it has to be replaced - any experience of this issue in the ECU?

Anything to check before exchanging the ECU?

Hi all.

Finally solved the issue - it turns out that the crank sensor input in the ECU is faulty and therefore does not sense the signal from the sensor.

I exchanged the ECU to another one (including the IMO) and it starts immediately....

Next is to move the stage 2 tune from the old ECU to the new ECU - I have an OP-Com, but I do not know if that is sufficient for copying the tables from one ECU to the other?
