Got a project in mind - grafting a V6 alfa engine into the back of a VX

Does anyone have the subframe width measurements to hand ?

Any advice or previous knowledge is welcome

Sorry do you mean supercharged ??   which car is fitted with that ?

The busso 2.5 v6 i was thinking about is 175hp standard and a sensible price to buy a full car with loom etc

the 1.4 tsi engine has 160 bhp (they claim) so 10 less then your 2.5 v6 and as its boosted will have ample tuning potential

Its about the sound as well as the horses !!

Think Ferrari sound versus one of those boring German box sounds

If you just want a V6, then the older GM engines are much easier to install as then the gearbox, clutch, driveshafts etc. etc. are all there...   They aren't particularly impressive by many accounts, but easy enough to get +200bhp (3.0 and 3.2L engines). They weight 160-170Kg. https://en.wikipedia..._V6_engine#3.2

3.0 s/c v6 tsfi 420bhp iirc with software, pulley, exhaust and intake Sounds like a v8 and was very impressed. Also very compact and s/c in the v 👍 Even in heavy s5 it went really well.....did I mention the sound 😎 DG
