And yeh it's a twin scroll turbo. Plan to either upgrade turbo to a 20T impeller over the 18T as standard or go for a Garret Aiming around 400-450 with way too much torque!

There was around 2000 an S1 Elise with the V6 Alfa engine in Italy (where else! ;) )

AFAIK it was always a little too 'heavy' at the back to be enjoyable.

Bye, Arno.

It's from a 90's Alfa and therefore, by definition, a rolling shed.

The 2.2 is just a slightly updated version of the existing 2.2 NA engine = pointless IMO

The 3.2 is a NA version of GM HFV6 family (same as the VXR 2.8 Turbo engine) and this will not fit to the existing gearbox options (i.e. same issues as fitting the 2.8 Turbo engine).

The 24v engine from a 156 is the one I would have chosen. For my sins I worked on them, awful car fab engine. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

If you know the engine you more than half way there. The fabrication / fitting of hardware is the easy bit compared to wiring joys, and the smaller details oooooh the long list of little items 😊 Good luck with it and will sound great 😉 DG

I'm not sure why you'd want to go though a lot of hard work and lot of expense to transplant an entirely different engine + gearbox + ECU to end up with lower power levels that an OEM tuned Vauxhall engine would give you?

Both the Z22 and Z20 engines have well defined tuning paths that are easy and cheap to do, both up to around 300 BHP. It seems odd to spend more money and more time on another solution that would likely yield less power and more risk.

The exception to this logic might be that you simply want to test yours skills (which would be admirable), but to change the engine simply on the merit of what is looks like when you open the boot seems somewhat needless. If you were to tune your existing Z22 or Z20 there are loads of people on here who have all faced the exact same issues that you would and could offer instant help and advice.

I don't mean to p*ss on your party, just trying to get your feet grounded and make you really consider what you might be getting yourself into.

GL.

I respect your point of view and would only consider it if I could get a cheap enough body etc. And I'm kind of coming from the point of view of if I don't do it now then I probably never will - at the moment it's only an in principle and might not come off ever. But if I never explore the possibility I will possibly always wonder what if. Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk
