Does it have a GM part number stamped on it Liz?

This is one of Liz's relays I got as a spare because I'm paranoid.

You will notice that there is a pin discrepancy over the original lotus part, but as this came off a car I guess it doesn't matter ?

 

 

 

 

Searching the GM parts number comes up with this description;

 

Module

OEM part number 90069864

Windshield wiper pulse control

 

Supplied for Pontiac, Opel and Vauxhall cars and fits 22 GM cars. But the Oemcats website does not list the cars.

 

 

Rather than a new starter inhibit relay, it looks like someone has fitted this as a replacement. Probably works fine but without the starter inhibit function.

Bigger issue for me is sourcing the brown relay - I eventually found mine on the ground next to my car, full of water. It's AMR1088 as used on the original defender and a TVR. Not easy to locate, suspect they'll become the next problem relay after the yellow one.

It's the VX wiper relay, which I guess is good news for anyone stuck with a broken yellow relay, but makes me much less enthusiastic to fit it to my car.

We took another off a loom recently and assumed this had occurred again, but on closer inspection, the pins are in a slightly different position, and I think now it was took from the wrong plug, as the loom was off the car,

I am so glad you wrote that because the wiring diagram states that the missing pin is actually for the starter button wire

So can still be used in an emergecy situation to get back home without rewiring?

I can't see how, if it bypasses the starter button.

I thought is was for failsafe pressing while engine is running, but if it bypasses it completely, then indeed useless.

Anyone got the fiat one in yet, and tried it?

Mine apparently left Warsaw last night en-route to the UK. No idea how quickly it'll get here but I probably wont even bother trying it though as I'm 100% confident it'll be the right thing.

Also have a B116xxx coded part from Lotus but this is on backorder.

This relay seems to be out of production.

Speedster/VX220 number A116M0032, and lotus number B116M0032F

(elise-shop says it's in backlog at lotus)

 

Has anybody ever peeled off that red sticker to see if there is a parts number under it?

Red sticker says it's from MetaSystem, but my gutt feeling says it's generic.

Anybody ever took it apart to find parts numbers?

Finally turned up and looks exactly the same (other than some OEM markings moulded into the top of it). Terminals and terminal labels all exactly the same as our relay.

Old on the left, new on the right.
