Heard today that car is a cat c write off. Thought about my options and am going to be buying it back to sell as a job lot with all my other vxr spares from no37 like doors, boot, std air vents, wish bones, drive shafts, etc etc.....I have one interested party at minute with more of you that have pm,d me. I will compile a list of what vxr29 comes with plus a second list of all the spares on top that go with the car, in case first person doesn't buy. It's costing £5500 to buy it off the insurance so will be looking for a lot more,....hopefully that will rule out the dreamers expecting to pick it up for very little and I will be left with the serious buyers. £5500 to buy off the insurers seems a lot... if you consider it's book value will be something like £12,000 in full working order.

Best of luck with selling all the VX parts Peter, hopefully you'll get a price you're happy with for everything.

Insurance tell me 22% of value is their std rate, with respect to value for money for prospective buyers you need to see spec list of bits on vxr29 plus list of all parts coming with it as part of the job lot. Not sure I agree with your valuation nev once all repaired, less than half what it was worth? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Is it definitley repairable? Not that I don't trust insurance assessors to have the first clue about these cars....

Totally driver error, too much right foot on out lap and ended up backwards into tyre wall/armco barrier and then for good measure turned upside down finishing on her roof.

Mbes yes main impact was into tyre wall at rear of car then it caused car to slowly roll over onto roof, you will see from pics when 5 o'clock posts them that rest of car doesn't look all that bad. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Forgive me if im thick. So insurance co pay you £25k the value you put on it. You give them back £5500 and sell it on for more than £5500. You end up with more than the value you insured it for?? For once i feel sorry for insurance company! Forgive me if im completely wrong.

So I dont think Cat C matters on VX. But a VXR you are buying into exclusivity, collectability with Cat car its history is now not appealing to that audiance.
