Can anybody help, I just went to get my VX220 registred/motor office, and I didn't go through, I need to fix my headligts, a rear mirror and the right ball joint I think it is...  These two videos should mean a defective ball joint right?

And please a link to the part I need to buy? :)

Anyone have a good suggestion for a small and good lookin rear mirror?

Thx Peter

Mine has the lower drivers side ball joint pooped, needs sorting asap.

Sounds like that and drives you nuts when driving down a bumpy road.

If you hold the wheel from 12oclock to 6 (jacked up) and it moves, it will be the balljoint. Side to side with the steering wheel held still, probably the track rod (cheaper to sort).

When I put my hands at 3oclock and 9, and move from side to side, with the wheel lifted from the ground, it makes that sound/moves without the other wheel moving... so think it would be the Ball Joint right?

Yup, steering rack needs removing and either refurbishing or replacing.

You just need to take the wheel off, stick your head into the wheel arch and wiggle it around and use your common sense. It will then become clear to you what part has failed.

If you did this, it would take 10 minutes and you would know for sure, a far quicker analysis than the 3 days this thread has been going...

As with most aspects of VX220 ownership, a little bit of self reliance is sometime better than strangers trying to remotely guess what the problem is for you.

Replacing any ball joint is not particularly hard, just a bit time consuming and violent. If the steering rack has play and needs replacing that is a bit of a bigger job.

Good luck.

Sadly i just found out that it's the same problem as this, and that it is the steering rack that's busted  :( that sucks!

Same as this:

So I need to buy a new steering rack right?

I'm no expert, but yes it looks/sounds like play in the steering rack to me. Hopefully someone else who's had this problem will come along soon.

So I need to buy a new steering rack right?

Racks can be refurbished.  There will be remanufacturers somewhere in Denmark, have yours taken off and sent to them.  Will be much cheaper than a replacement.
