Just walked round my recently purchased car to make a list of things to do:

Paint the bonnet bracket, not sure if I can remove it so I may just have to use a brush instead of spay.

Posted Image20160703_114532 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Remove the sun strip, shame as I really like it but it ruins the wiper blade. Whoever installed this is very skilled, never seen something stuck on so neatly.

Clean the sticky stuff off the window, white spirit?

Posted Image20160703_120018 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Looks like the shiny stuff between the engine and boot is peeling away:

Posted Image20160703_120550 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

These window seals are a really good idea but are a little too big and peeling off, so try to reattach better or find some better fitting seals:

Posted Image20160703_120603 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Replace this plastic stuff above the rear wheel, my girlfriend pointed out that it looks terrible and she rarely comments on cars:

Posted Image20160703_120618 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Fit a VX220 metal surround:

Posted Image20160703_120633 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Make up my mind if I want to fit an original grille or stick to this one, it does rattle loudly which annoying:

Posted Image20160703_120718 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Respray front, next summer I'm thinking after a winter of track days:

Posted Image20160703_120758 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Remove HIDs as they have caused my wires to burnout in the past:

Replace front splitter as it looks terrible, not sure if to get the same Leon splitter again or fit the turbo corner splitters:

Posted Image20160703_120805 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Not sure if this can be fixed if I wanted to stick to the Leon splitter:

Replace tired looking wing mirrors, the black plastic parts are now grey:

Refurb front and rear lights:

Remove carbon trim and replace with anthracite standard trim:

Posted Image20160703_121238 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Get some proper mats as these look like they have been cut from carpet, they don't quite fit and slide around:

Replace gear knob and gaiter:

Change tyres or fit anthracite TD 1.2s with relevant brackets to prevents the arch gaps. Have no idea what these tyres are but I really like the mint standard anthracite wheels:

Remove the raimining carpet and give the inside of the tub a very good clean, any recommendations on how to clean this it would be appreciated. I've heard WD40 is good but sounds rather oily:

Repair Soft top:

Fit new wiper blade arm kit from VX220 parts:

Posted Image20160625_183949 by Richard Fanders, on Flickr

Repair heater, this one seems pretty good so I don't think I'll need a fezza:

In the process of refurbing the wheel, I'll post a how to guide if I'm succesful:

Cover the centre console and sills in padding and leather to help my knees on the long all day journeys:

Window seals are correct, however don't appear to have been fitted well. they're fitted to later Elises

Magic sponges tend to work fairly well on the tub.

And as for heater elements in the seats, Colchester folk can't be very tough! :poof:

Thank you, haha to be honest I'm not bothered about heated seats but I promised my girlfriend the VX220 would have them as she wanted me to keep the Z4M as she loved the bum warmers. However I've got to have a good heater as I don't want to do a third winter in the cold.

So just removed the heater box, easy up until you need to lift it out and it gets snagged on the wiring loom brackets and wiper motor.

As you can see I scratched the motor up pretty bad:

Here is the heater box, this one actually blows quite well, any ideas on how to fix this massive hole and reattach the cable bracket. Is it worth rewinding the motor or will is it not worth it?

I think these heater's days are numbered looking at how corroded the innards are after 53,000 miles.

Cleaned and ready to reassemble with tiger seal and new rivets. Will fit a new piece of ABS plastic over the hole and reattached the hot/cold control.

I'll be sure to post a picture when I have time to finish it. I will be selling the carbon fibre bits. I already have someone who is interested in them although I haven't thought about the value of them yet.

Starting to get somewhere, fixed the cracks on the plastic box with this glue, it's amazing stuff, feels even stronger than the plastic after about 5-10 seonds:

Also cut some plastic to fill the hole:
