Obviously the weaponR was the only decent manifold available at the time :P

Does that mean you didn't have ITBs if you had an intake manifold. I thought ITBs just have a fixing plate that connects the ITBs to the engine?

Smiley: What do you mean?

6000   6000 miles per year not £6000 to insure

Haha, it was just under £500 for insurance with the Trackdays and a value of £13,000. I haven't got a proof of valuation though, very hard to get one when you have mods as it's hard to value it. But I wouldn't let it go for less than £20,000 as it don't think I'll get another one and given how terribly this run when I got it I wouldn't want another one. It's close to factory smooth now.

weaponR was a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and it had the webcon ITBs fitted

looking at the before/after graph - doesn't look like a lot has changed for the most part? A bit more at the top end and smoothing at the lower end?

nice and smooth though

It always has been good above 3000rpm. The problems where below 2000rpm and cold start which is now sorted. The graph doesn't show below 2000rpm but it was messy. I've figured out why the engine chugs when off the gas at 1250rpm.. It's because the TPS doesn't return to the set idle value if you come off the gas slowly. If I let off gas suddenly it doesn't chug. It's a pain, nothing to do with mapping but all to do with the crude TPS.

will be interesting to hear what airflow Troy reset yours to along with the tps voltage.

after having watched your revs hanging video, I think I could live with that as it is.  Small problem IMHO.

It's not a small problem when you braking and when the car gets to 1250rpm your passengers starts looking at you like you can't drive because the car is jerking about like a learner driver. I just need to remember to clutch down before 1250rpm which is hard for me as I'm lazy and normally wait until tickover.

Looking good there Gaffer. I'm changing the radiator hoses this weekend but when I'm done you'll have to come out in the supercharged vx.

That's Mr Daisy :P Mrs Daisy doesn't appear to get scared, but then again that's probably because my driving isn't scary :D

Fitted RC5+ pads with shims yesterday which on first impressions are very good:

Greased pads and replaced and greased pins front and rear and the brakes seem very quiet for now.

This tool is very handy:

Also too the duck taped anti rattle foam off the undertray and stuck on some proper stick foam. Doesn't rattle still so I'm pleased:

I left most the dirt on as I hope the dirt will further help dampen any rattles.

Fitted a bulb, explains why the light wasn't working, there was no bulb in the holder, the holder was very loose so I bent it to make it fit better.

This will explain the noise in the dash during hard cornering, the old bulb must be lost in there somewhere.

As your car seems to be pristine now, I think you ought to come and attend to mine, I must have at least a dozen minor tidying up jobs I've been putting off for 5+ years. B)

Haha, definitely not pristine, I need another year or two, I want to revamp the interior so it's like new and close to original and I also want to do a suspension / steering refresh when I've got a garage.
