Thinking about getting rid of the e91 330d Looking at Octavia vrs estate diesel. Question is do I go for a lease deal 10k ish miles or not? Do you get offered to buy it at reduce rate once term is finished?

2005/6 72k,330d m sport, 18s, fsh, idrive, sat nav, black leather, BMW tints, just refurbed wheels, auto plus all the usual bits like cruise control climate control etc etc I did offer them a fiver and they said no lol

I would not touch a lease, unless your happy to pay all the taxes on a new car and left with fcuk all to show for it at the end.

The money you lose on a new car isn't that far off the money you lose on a lease For example 24k for a vrs new, currently a 3 year old vrs with 30k on it is about 15k

It's no different from buying new, except you pay less each month, don't need a massive deposit, and get a new car every 3 years or so without having to go through the hassle of selling it to tyre kickers. What's not to like?

My wife does 25k a year and has a lease on a Mini Paceman (Cooper S obvs). We have a new one every 18 months. We had a DS3 before and lost more than the deposit for the mini in the year that she used the DS3. They have always been good when handing it back even with the 2 accidents that she has had. It's nice not to worry about the servicing etc as that is all included and she gets a nice new car to race around in. We'll probably buy when she has finished where she is working but for now it makes more sense.

Just sold our Tiguan that we bought new 2.5 years ago.

 

Paid £26,700

 

Sold £17,600

 

So £303 per month actual cost.

 

I'm not sure if I could have leased cheaper, but will certainly look at the figures next time.

I went from 330d to vrs. Both leased. Vrs was a bit meh. Keep the bimmer. Vwfs really tried it on with the return. Its normally a bad idea to choose a car then find a lease deal. Best to have an open mind and be ready to jump when a pukka ( ) deal comes up...and they do from time to time but they sell out very quickly...
