I'm just going through the same equation now, whether to buy, whether to lease or whether to PCP a new car. Will also be an auto, well probably DSG. It's the way ahead for a daily driver that'll spend hours in 6th or 7th gear on a motorway, or sat in a jam.

I got my (December registered) Aygo for a £100/month and 15k miles a year. They gave me £1k over what my trade in was worth and took £500 off the car

No brainer for what I use it for

PCP can work out well. Once I had negotiated a minimal deposit (by way of huge Dealer and BMW contribution, plus discount on the windscreen price), free 5 year servicing and a reasonable APR it was cheaper than a lease.

Since it'll only have 5000 miles at the end of the term, I'll probably buy it and run the car once the term is up (will still have the balance of the service pack).

Or maybe I'll get something a bit bigger again....

Are you talking lease or pcp. There are substantial differences.

4x4 dsg vrs estate tdi £271 a month £850 initial 4 years   http://www.fleetpric...g-4x4-114555525   or   vrs manual £232 a month £696 initial 4 years   http://www.fleetpric...s-5dr-114555507

4 years?! £5 says you won't want to keep the car for 4 years

Just bought an M140i and it was cheaper to PCP it with a large diposit than to lease. But I'm planning on keeping it. If you want a new car every 2 years then lease might be good for you. They all cost between £8-10k esp as the cheap 'monthlies' (I learnt this from bmw forums) have 6 or 9 month deposits.

Like there's that much difference between the two versions. It's an Octavia. Just got an RS6. :P
