It's simple logic, but it seems there is always someone wanting to argue.

You can't resist getting all defensive can you, I'll put money down you can't not reply to this post ;)

My comment was more that power without control does not make a fast track car, just ask Chill.

Agree with you about the Atom, pretty poor driving. He should wipe the floor with that Yeti.

Never mind, I am wrong, it was foolish of me to think that Yeti was faster with a more powerful engine.

Lovely to see the reaction with someone who is unknown to mid engined cars.

Exige must have scared him though.

He was wearing both the harnass AND the normal seat buckle

Quite a good video, I normally don't have the patience to watch them all the way through. Thanks for posting it.

Funny at at 5m 25s :)

great vid!...did i hear him say heavily modded lotus against a standard factory rolling 4c thats not a fair fight....

so look for comment on youtube.

David Guidolin . I am actually very surprised that the 4C was so close in lap times & drag race to the heavily modified Exige. I would have guessed that the Exige would smoke the 4C. (for the record I own a Launch edition 4C & an Elise, plus used to be a professional racer back in the 80s & 90s)*

+Francesco Mannino as you can see the comparison was very very close in lap times and in cost. That's why we chose a modified exige. If the Alfa was modded to the same level it wouldn't be a close competition.

if it was vx... 4c wouldn't have stood a chance  :poke:

anyway 4c well out of my price range, unless they depreciate fast.

Might have something to do with them being 16 years old now... How do you think a standard NA & Turbo will do in those times. You seen that video with the 111r being quicker on track than a std turbo You bringing that 500bhp monster on track at national? ?

Test drove a 4c little while ago, auto gearbox is reluctant to go down for corners and ride felt crashy on roads around Guildford was a wet day so wanted more control of the gears both up and down.

Boot is smaller than the VX and engine more laggy, couple this with the gearbox felt like it needed to be bought, taken some where for a chip to smooth the engine and a suspension change to soften the edges of the ride, felt unfinished but not in the unfinished way of a VX interior fittings all together and no rattles.

Getting in and out no different to the VX, just as tricky to the unknowing.

Yes it is pretty to look at even in the white I borrowed but with that money I would be going to Lotus for an Exige of some flavour.

Put that guy in a 'heavily' tuned speedster/vx and he poops his pants......... (really, he does!)

I have driven the 4c, the coupe and convertible.  Its a great car, and gorgeous to look at.  I just couldn't ever see myself buying one unless they are sub 20k 2nd hand.  I am quite confident that my Stage 2 SC would be a quicker car on both the road and the track.  Its a little comfier inside, with less squeaks and rattles...  but if i had 40-50k to spend on a toy at the moment there are many other cars that would be at the front of the queue before a 4C.

4C anything but the next best thing to a VX. Pile of...

I'll have a skoda yeti over it any day of the week

Yeti is still one of the best chassis' we make IMO (as a journalist, not a PR).

And if I can persuade Richard to sell this one... (now 750bhp)

I have actually requested a /yeti as my next company car. Get my new company wheels Friday though. 280bhp, four-wheel drive and launch control. Oh, and a 625-litre boot... :ninja:

Just to put the speed of the Yeti into context of a VX.

The below is from my very first laps after fitting the supercharger and I followed that Yeti. It's quick (for a Yeti) but not very quick in the corners despite the KW suspension, semi slick tyres etc. etc.. Not really surprising though as there's some fundamental physics that he's trying to overcome. No idea what the Atom driver is doing.

Alfa 4C is very nice, I'd like to have a go in one at some point but as others have said, not sure it's a £40k+ car.

The 4C is an automatic turbo. I would rather drive a VX220, but the 4C is gorgeous!

I get to drive a few and the twin clutch I think adds to the car it's as good a box as my Audi , autos are the way forward the giulia qf box is a zf auto and changes so fast it's instant that's why the auto set the ring time , or I'm just getting old
