February edition published today contains a 'Buyer's Guide' and declares it a classic.

"Exclusive and exciting both in appearance and behind the wheel, the VX220 has now achieved full classic status and prices look set to continue rising for the nicest cars."

Great exposure for these fantastic little cars and should help residuals and insurance.

Although prices will rise slowly, I don't think they will ever be popular: for exactly the same reasons they weren't popular when they came out. Namely people see a badge rather than the engineering underneath.

Unfortunately cars generally sell for their looks, perceived snobbery and headline 0-60 values, not because they are deserving and in the top quartile of their genre :(

Nice one "Price"...

..anything to help these plastic sh*t buckets keep up their image of "nice car mister".... and a decent risidual price..

...eventually it will be down to demand and supply..the less there are, the more classic and special they will become....even the scruffy and biscuit ones!

Never hit my pillowing dreaming about owning a vx220...then i drove one, its what dreams are made out of.

all other classics that are raising fast  .....Ford capri brooklands-- mini 1275gt---S1 escort rs turbo--325i these are cars that will always attract large crowds.

vx220 still has its place :0)

my mr2 turbo is classed as a classic, i get really cheap insurance (190 pounds a year) due to the classic classification, will this happen with the vx :0)

Ken's advert isn't in a classic car magazine. Far more specialised than that.

All the prices quoted are the costs of the parts, not the cost of fitting.

Great to see some traction on the cars image, but recognition it deserves and (selfishly) pricing. Time for those £40k pistonheads adverts to start rolling in!

What's 'classic status'?  If it means the VX is seen in the same light as an MGB, you can keep it

Classic as in the average age of the owner is on a par with that of the MGB Club ;) Ken loves those beige slacks

I hit 40 last year and my scalp sunroof is getting bigger by the day. I'm the ideal demographic then!
