We are all in Sigmax this year, numbers; 1, 6 and 32. Vimes is #1 as he won the inferior Mega class last year  (I have no doubt he will do very well in the pinnacle of Caterham racing this year too)

At least I will win the best looking car contest this year  thumbsup

Inferior!? #%%*^@&&&@!!!!!

It’s a real shame the Mega class is no more. It was a great class with a great group of drivers and off track banter.

Having said that, I think my car may be inferior when trying to compete with the Sigmax lot... power is down by up to 10 bhp and missing mid-range torque as well. Not expecting to live up to the No.1 status but it’ll be fun racing on grids that are full every race.

Less of the ex vx owner :D

I'm only going to do some of the rounds (and mostly not the silverstone one as the circuit is crap)

Hopefully be doing

Silverstone National

Donington

Anglesey

Oulton

(So wont be doing silverstone GP or silverstone International (I voted for Pembrey for that round))

Unsure on Zandvoort yet.

I'll also probably use this car in a round or 2 of my old series (brands or Oulton) just for a bit of fun.

Great that the grid are full (or over full as it seems to be) although we seem to have lost the test sessions for the same entry costs as a result of that!

Hopefully complete my list of jobs today then will sort a test between now and the first race as this Saturday's test was full. I'll be popping down though to pick up some tyres and stickers.

I'm not keen on Silverstone GP either, too many long straights but at least there is plenty of run off.

I'm a bit disappointed about the lack of test sessions too, especially for Donington as testing is full the day before too. It means the first laps I will do will be in quali but I suppose most will be in the same boat.

I quite like racing at Silverstone. The long straights make for good slip streaming and close grids. GP circuit is great with a full grid and mixed classes.

Good luck to all of you.

Mark - what car are you using? Is it a previously raced car with a winning pedigree or one that you have sourced and are building up to race?

What's the easiest way for following the series? Is any of it televised?

Cheapest and quickest way was to get a car ready to race. Not many options doing it this way though but I've got a car that seems ok.

I wont know the exact performance of the engine until I'm alongside another car and see if I get outdragged!

I did an afternoon session at Blyton the other day though and the car seems ok, so much easier on the limit than the VX. To the point that theres no fear in going over the limit as it's so much easier to gather back up.

Steve and Kev are testing tomorrow at Silverstone (In preparation for the first race weekend), I wont have chance but hopefully will test at Donington in the next few weeks to get more time in the car and the second race weekend is there.

Sounds like a baptism of fire - (ignoring previous racing experience).

Be sure to keep us updated, its a lot cheaper to live the petrol heads dream of racing through others

It's not televised but the club is trying to increase social media presence this year. At the pre-season track day they had a roving reported who was streaming to the facebook page: https://www.facebook...erhamGraduates/

There's a few good discussions on there and an interview with Andrew Outerside (Board member, which I haven't watched yet).

Not sure the reporter has the knowledge of the cars/drivers yet but it brings the day to life for those not at the track and I think the plan is to continue and even introduce some in car footage on race days (at some point).

Alternatively if anyone wants free tickets then I'm sure between the 3 of us we'll always find a few spares to send on to those interested. You can come and stand in the freezing cold with us and experience the glamour of UK club motor sport.

My race car has now been converted to a road car (it has lights and an MOT) and is up for sale. It’s a great car and I want to keep racing it but in the new class structure it’s at a slight disadvantage so I’ve bought another car.

If anyone wants a rapid road / track / race Caterham then drop me a PM.

Here’s a video from Silverstone a couple of weeks ago getting used to the LSD. After a winter refresh it’s running perfectly and setting faster lap times than ever with the new LSD upgrade.

These things are properly quick and are really rewarding to drive as there are no assists so it's all down to you. Once you learn to drive them properly you will be quicker than 99% of cars on almost every track day. I love mine, it's great!

Good job I’ve just got my Caterham taxed and MOT’d... just in time to go out and enjoy the empty roads :)

So as the season ends here is the championship table for the year. There were 29 people in the class :)

OK, OK it was a non championship year, nobody scored any points and the table is based on the number of your car but it still looks good taken out of context right?  :D
