Is anyone actually running one of these blocks in a VX yet?
It has so many advantages over our LET blocks.
I can see talk about it but no finished projects.
Idle musings....

There is a guy in Germany who has one up and running nicely. I forget his name, maybe Herman: http://www.vx220.org...ndalone-a20nft/
There is a guy on here who was intending to put one in his VX (username: DrEd) but he seems to have suddenly gone quiet for a while now: http://www.vx220.org...cas-6sp-a20nft/
It's a great engine, certainly a step forward mechanically over the Z20LEx.
However, if you are going for big power (i.e. 500+) some of the nuances of that engine would be wasted IMO (like the trick cams + valves), as you'd have to replace a lot of it to breath well. Finding someone who can actually programming that ECU to manage the DI etc might be tricky.
Can I can sense you itching to install a powerful new heart in your car Simon?! Feel free to ring me, I'm twiddling my thumbs at home.

From reading about that block in various forms of tune as used in the USA it seems like a good alternative to the LE* And you get the 6 speed m32 too boot so to speak. You can buy a LDK long block crate motor for 2k dollars, no idea what that works out to be once it's in the UK. That block will take 500+ RWHP according to several tunning firms. And it can be girdled to take 700+ RWHP. Not sure what gear box you would run at that kind of power. I'm surprised your F23 survives NEV. Have you strengthened it? I need to get a PAX in Nipper once the weather is better
Can you come over for the Wales trip perhaps (http://www.vx220.org...t-wales-meet/)? Leave Kent at 3.00 AM and join us!
The F23 is really a strong gearbox, nominally 220 ft/lb rated, but that is in a 2.2 ton car. As the VX is only 45% of that weight the inertia is that much lower, which is why I think it survives so well. The key to the F23 box is to cool it (or it's oil) and not ram the gear changes. Smooth torque delivery also helps obviously. The conical diff bearings do fail on it and are almost a serviceable item on it.

I thought the f23 was rated at 230Nm not ft/lbs. Can you confirm I have this wrong. Would explain a few things
Hmm, I may well be wrong, as it's a German box I suppose it's more likely to be in NM.
However, bear in mind the OEM mated it to the VXT which is a 198 ft/lb engine...

Yep, just speak to BadCop (Dominik) and he will advise you on everything you need, and offers the essential bit of the conversion which is the ECU in a standalone configuration, ready for installation.
Mapping / Calibration is readily available as its the same engine installed in Astra J VXR, so some of the Vauxhall tuners can offer this.

remember the lay out is different as a LET vx. Has the same lay out as a Z22SE (box inc)....(everything is possible to mod off course)Is anyone actually running one of these blocks in a VX yet? A key problem with packaging the A20NFT will be having space to make a manifold and exhaust system that is large enough to make it quiet. Remember the exhaust side is on the other side to the Z20LET.

There's a Dutch member, Exmantaa, also capable of doing a a20nft build.
The GMS racecar (member who sells the tailligth lenses) which engine did he had?? http://www.vx220.org...race-car/page-2
Whoa.... Hold your horses...
I happen to have a new A20NFT in my garage and placing this block into an NA VX/Speedster is nothing magic, but sorting out the turbo/exhaust, the inlet tract + chargecooling and not unimportant the necessary ecu + sensors + mapping will make this quite a project.
Dominik/Badcop is doing the ground work and the E39 ecu stand-alone conversion, but it's not exactly cheap...
I can see the NFT work on a German Autobahn, but struggling to see the benefits of this on Dutch roads or track.
