I would be jumped in to B1 i don't agree with this class jumping thing if you meet the rules then it is what it is ( my believe is that it's up to competitors to improve rather than move the fastest car )

Here is the short first sector times

Re: bumping up classes, surely nobody wants to win a one horse race and getting you in the mix with other similar lapping cars would be more interesting?

Depends if he only cares about winning. If yoir only going to put a wing on and a splitter dont bother.. wont make you faster.

In the words of the CEO of Ariel

"We do an aerofoil package that increases drag by 15 per cent, so in performance terms it slows you down. And they don't work until you're doing 60-70mph. By removing them you've got a faster, more efficient car,"

I think coupled with really low ride height, the right hubs and a properly designed floor and diffuser, gains can be made.

The Caterham R300 lap record at croft is a 1:29.2. No aero, and 175bhp.

I'd say weight reduction is the next logical step.

surely a correctly angled and correct height rear wing would make a car more slippery (reducing the drag at the rear of the car)

i think we have a aero guy on here somewhere who could solve this one

There are a large number of over simplifications in that. But an well designed aerofoil should provide much more downforce than drag. However whether it makes you faster will probably be more to do with getting the right balance to give you confidence. There was a good article in evo a few years back testing an evora gt4 in different aero trims

In your honest opinion do you think the standard vx is a little bit on the front end like im finding, and do you think i will be better of just leaving aero side of things well alone

and a bit of a silly one, i have a mmg long rear diffuser in garage should i fit it at the same angle as vx or reduce the angle ? or even dont bother at all.

many thanks in advance Chris

if i said at the moment the front balance is at 10 and the rear feels like its at 6 i ideally would like to bring the rear to 8 without upsetting the 10 at the front,

is it possible to achieve something like this simply ?

If i was to put rather a low spoiler/gurney flap what height and angle could i go with that wouldent produce any significant drag compared to the amount of down force, and how wide should it be ?

The 2 events I entered this year was a great entry level in motor sport Can't wait for the 2018 rules to be finalised and with a few extra others entering next year should be a good laugh to From javelin for 2018 2018 Calendar You can expect a provisional calendar to be announced in the run up to Christmas with it then being made official in the first few weeks after new year. Although we sorted our date requests months ago in the trackday world we have to wait to see if anything changes as the various race calendars are sorted out over the winter so there is no point in announcing anything until its all settled down. If you want a timescale for your winter build then you should aim to have the car up and running again ready for the last weekend of March and then as is traditional one event per month until October. 2018 Regulations There will be the odd tweak over the winter as there always is but I will aim to announce the 2018 regs in December, I have an idea of some changes I would want to make to the class structure but until I run some simulations to see if they work out as expected then I wont be announcing anything. The principle is always the same, you should be grouped up with vehicles of a similar level to your own. If you are new to the series then you can still use the existing structure as a guide, although the allocation for some classes may change the general baseline in place for the subclasses should remain the same. Class S As I announced at the last round due to popular demand I will introduce a championship for vehicles in Class S, so whilst they will still be limited in numbers and not counted in the overall series results they can still compete in their own mini series within JTSS. 2018 Entry As with this year there will be the option to enter the whole series for a discounted rate once the events go on sale.
