If only the VX's had some NTR suspension, the 675LT would have struggled to get past..

 

My mate has done some testing for Mclaren and apparently the 675LT is leagues ahead of most of their range (excluding the P1 obviously) so as long as it was a reasonably competent driver very little would stand a chance.

tbh , we have seen worse failure rates from the vxr ohlins , and from GAZ , quantum owners are keeping quiet

Yeah I wasn't pleased especially when you consider the money they cost. In all fairness Nitron sorted it, said that the 60mm NTR's aren't really suitable for the road and agreed that the dealer I dealt with should have sold me the 40's. They still shouldn't leak so there must have been some faulty components at the time.

i think "60mm" , you mean the 46mm damper range, to avoid confusion.

My comment was of course tinged with sarcasm Steve.. I'm not sure many road worthy things would hold up a 675LT, even on a smaller track like KH..

I may be after a set of shocks for my n/a shortly and am also having the same dilemma. The car will be used almost exclusively on the road so stiff track suspension would not be much help on the cart track road surface round here. I would like the option to lower the ride height slightly but am with the OP in the belief that my "setup" skills would not be up to the multi way adjustable nature of some of the shocks available. I'm leaning towards the like for like replacement of the standard billies as lotus are not too shabby sorting suspension and no doubt spent a long time finalising their settings to give a good compromise between ride and handling. Does anyone have an opinion/experience of the Exige bilstein set UK lotus have for sale on eBay? Cheers, Jon.

The problem is that the vx is just a lovely drive (keeping away from the potholes) with standard suspension on the road and I wouldn't want to spoil/balls it up. I've absolutely no doubt that if you knew what you were doing you could improve the handling on track immensely but that's not my aim. I don't mind spending a few quid more over the standard dampers to get a better ride but is the exige setup a worthwhile step ? Cheers, Jon.
