Thanks for the reply. Yep, the instrument cluster is fully functional, including engine temperature. Dunno what "PWM" means though :o

Pulse Width Modulation - it's basically nerd talk for a control signal  :)

 Thanks :D

Added support for non linear sensors across their full range

3 data pairs are entered into the dash to calibrate

i.e an oiltemp sensor with a resistance vs temp curve , resistance and temp are entered for the low , mid and high readings

Those 3 pairs of data are used to get an accurate calibration across the range .

That sensor (6 can be configured in total ) can then be assigned to a data channel .

Works for non linear sensors also like oil pressure ,

For the geeks ..... it uses the Steinhart method

Top work! Hyperthetically (of course) would you add the option to light up the abs and airbag lights when the ignition is turned on, then have them go out regardless of the signal... can't possibly think why that would be useful of course 😜

no that option will not be added as I don't think its needed

there is an option to disable the bootlogo so all the powerup lamp tests are not missed

all the tell tale lamps are mapped to what ever you like

if you set the mil lamp to the indicator input then the mil lamp will flash like a turn signal

if you set the abs lamp to the oil pressure switch input it will go on off in the same way as the oil light does

...so any tell tale lamp can be set to behave like any other lamp ,  its all down to how you map it......   same as any aftermarket dash I would assume as all the i/o is generic and configured to

do whatever you like

The dash has a new feature , smart phone connectivity Via an app , Both android and iPhone The main reason for this was to remove the joystick interface It was quite temporary , so someone had the idea to use an app to control everything It connects via wifi (phone connects to the dash's network) The app at the moment has a dpad to act as the joystick plus live Battery and fuel readings . There is a lot more that could be added . 1. A "get laptimes" function to be able to view outside of the car 2. Control the 4 outputs of the dash ( whatever's connected to them can be controlled) 3. Look at the logs 4. Maybe some live trackside data (wifi signal dependant ) 5. Data up on a larger screen when it's in the workshop ( the app could run on any pc , tablet, mac etc) So other than that what other things can be done with this Interface ? Suggestions please P.s the nano wifi dongle is plugged into the USB , an extra USB will be added to the dash to make 3 So it can be removed if anyone has security concerns

Garw, don't push the feature list too far away, especially if it has cost impacts.

AIM have aggressively priced their MXS Strada as I am sure you know (at least by "motorsport" standards). Of course they miss the datalogging option, but it would still be a geeky gadget for many users just needing a "sexy" dash.

As long as you keep them cheaper, I'm sure you will sell dozens of them (and I would take at least one)

It doesn't cost any more , wifi hardware is £5 on cost From the feedback so far , more people are interested in the cool stuff :-) geek stuff aside , the main benefit is not needing any extra interface buttons The only wires coming out into the cockpit is the USB ,

I was more thinking about the time spent on software side, and the future maintenance it will need ;)

Will buy it eyes closed definitely for my Speedster.

I concur with previous replies regarding these new features. They're great but I'd rather have a working display with a limited set of features that are well polished in a month or two than two hundred unpolished buggy features in a year. I believe the majority would be content to 99% with just two display options (track/road). The rest I assume could be added at a later stage with software updates.

Must be a professional quirk.

I work as a product manager since years.

With limited ressources, we evangelize a "lean" approach, basically : "Do less, but better" ;)

And I have worked for Product Managers :-)

Imagine you let your engineers off the leash , what would they come up with ?

That's the freedom I have , :-)

I imagine they would come up with a bunch of awesome ideas and that no business as usual stuff would be handled =) speaking as a former software engineer
