Fwiw there is something divine about a cluster that shows only speed and fuel level, with warnings for other things or simple indicators like a little blue telltale that goes out at say 80degc so you know the car is warmed up but don't really care about the details. Less is more in some cases... and if you can read all the sensor details while hooning round a track, then you are either better than rosberg or you are slow

You can have a blank screen if you like ( not trying to be funny) A graphic which shows absolutely nothing unless there's a problem , speed visible only when too fast, Temp only when it's too hot etc. So if it's minimalism you like then this can be better than the standard cluster .

This is EXACTLY what i am looking for since a few weeks...   Please give more details about that analog-CAN converter box!   I need do have displayed: - RPM up to 8000 - speed - fuel tank - engine coolant temp - Lambda (comes from wideband controller als 0-5V signal) - oil pressure (VDO sensor) - oil temp (VDO sensor) - boost (0-5V signal)     not a need but would be cool to display: - Exhaust gas temperature - amount of injected water (comes from the controller als 0-1V signal) - gearbox-temp (2nd oil temp sensor)   You can put me on the list if you can display this things and the price is that 600 GBP.

Its not finished yet    But it will have all the usual inputs for analogue(with 0-1V, 0-5V, etc) frequency, basic I/O , outputs , PWM outputs  and some switches to set the base can address to put all the data on.
What do you think when it is finished?

@GARW - I hear you. It's only been 12 months. So time to get it on the market and get some cash in to reward your R&D effort and skill.  Version 1 - as it is with the all the current bells and wishes.  Then charge more for each new version that adds more bells and whistles.  :)

Not having a dig, just pointing out that you could be making money now to fund more R&D. That is the goal right?

Yes , and that's what's happening. Features are locked. Production run next week All of which will go out on extended testing . Video input to be added in a later revision of the product (for rear view camera and phone casting) The option to add video input to version 1 LCD clusters will be offered .

Will there be a video input port, hdmi vga etc with the option to run it full screen? Currently using a separate 10" screen for my car pc running mapping/data logging software so would be handy if I could do away with this, no big deal if not though

Small world Garw, I was showing your gauge to my Dad at the weekend and he said you've met, think you're mates with Dylan with the turbo charged S3 Elise (lives in Ringwood). You came round to look at his wiring loom or something..... He mentioned you were developing it at the time so good to see the finished product!  thumbsup

I don't drive mine but I want it

Is there anyway of making your own screen layout/guide and as others have suggested having the original look is always good, the NA look of course not the Turbo fake stack ;)

Also what about updates etc... simple USB updates?  Oh and another question.....

EML, an option to hide it if you want? Say for reasons of having an ABS issue switch that causes it to come on?  Or an option to turn off the lights at will?

I can seriously see how cool this can be but dangerous at the same time in terms of being able to manipulate the status of the car.  I was speaking to a AC Cobra Replica owner once and he told he just unplugs his speedo so no miles get added!

You can create your own graphics but there is no facility to upload them yourself
They will need sending to me for implementation
Naturally I will add the vx graphic anyway

Updates are via a USB memory stick

All the tell tale lamps can be mapped however you like

The mileage question gets asked a lot , it's no different to the standard
Cluster . If it fails which they do a lot you have a similar issue

My car shows 30k something miles , it had a replacement cluster sometime after

45k. I got no idea if the replacement cluster was zero when fitted . What can you do ?

Add the miles to the clusters you send out and make that part tamper proof? Not sure if that's possible or would work? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Sounds like a good idea to me, but then people could refit there old stack at MOTs. As you say, mileage abuse is already fairly easily available. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

I don't know the vx set up regarding the odometer. Is the milage stored in the ECU as well as the speedo? If so the ECU would continue to store the correct milage.
