Hi All,

I'm still on here fairly often keeping track of a few members VX's etc, I know a few have shown interest in my cars since the VX220s, so I thought I'd update you with the latest purchase.

The C63 and 190E were both sold for the purchase of a new V8. I seem to be having trouble uploading images through photobucket and the IMG uploader so hoping this works...?

Pretty much finished with it now, time to enjoy her. 800 miles so far to Belgium and back!

I'm really struggling with pics! It used to be a case of copying the IMG and pasting?? I've tried the image uploader? what's changed? lol

Ian I believe you may know the guy who did the exhaust. Gareth at Welsh Coast Customs? Sure you wrote some maps for them a few years back?

Nothings changed. There seems to be a problem with using photobucket recently so people have been using other hosting sites.

Lovely car.....and very brave!

Very nice indeed. Loving a bit of shiny stealth. What are the running costs like?

Off topic a wee bit - I've always fancied a 190E, preferably a 2.6. Did you have a good experience with it?

Cheers

Comparable with the C63 and Bentley Continental MPG wise, a little worse around town than both, but on a run very similar.

Servicing is considerably more than my C63. Main service is due and that's £2500, Tyres are P Zero's so not cheap, Discs Pads and 4 tyres were around £3000 with maindealer.

As for the 190E, I absolutely loved the thing! Had an '82 200e previously also.

The head gasket went and cost about £650 in total to rebuild and skim etc lol, The rad went and cost £46! Absolute pennies if anything breaks, and stress free motoring if you buy a well looked after model.

I had the 2.0 Manual and changed nearly every mechanical part under the bonnet as it was a bit of a project, easy to work on and parts are cheap and easy to get hold of. Bought the car for £850 with issues and sold for around £3k+. They are shooting up in price so purchase now if you want one. I'll have another one day, retro cool motoring.

I'm pasting the IMG link into the Image uploader but as I click 'ok' it's freezing everytime. So frustrating, got a few nice shots of the car finished too.

Comparable with a C63/Conti.... ouch. I admire your taste, though.

Surprised the Merc was so cheap to run. The owners' club looks really helpful too. Thank you.
