Maybe they'll start using Volvo engines? At least they should have better resources for model development and marketing.

Better owner. Should translate to a massive quality upgrade of interiors to allow realistic competition with Porsche. Geely's business model is based on acquisitions to upgrade quality of other holdings.

Shame the latest Volvo engines are dogs though.

I guess we will have to wait to see what plans Geely may have for Lotus, hopefully new investment to stop the shoestring that Lotus has had to operate on under 11 years of Proton ownership, particularly since the Bahar debacle. This bit is certainly encouraging:- From http://www.motorauth...in-lotus-proton Geely CFO Daniel Donghui Li said in a statement. "We also aim to unleash the full potential of Lotus Cars and bring it into a new phase of development, thanks to our experience accumulated through Volvo Cars revitalization."

Ha, why would they stop a marketing gimmick that that Lotus buying mindset fall for?! Everyone knows that sticking on a couple of red flashes, a needless carbon xxxx and gold coloured wheels on a Lotus is worth the extra £5k !

Lets hope they use the influx of money to up the quality and quality control. One of our fellow Lotus Anoraks had a very nice Evora on test/loan the rear reflectors had fallen off. To which all us Lotus Anoraks virtually said typical Lotus all at the same time. They need to dispel this kit car/bits falling off image that seems to have stuck.

For the record I am not anti Lotus I've run a Lotus in one form or another since 1973.

Evora chassis is completely different to the elise/exige and based on the new VVA platform.

I would like to see the versions of the new Elise with both the dual compound charger and the twin engine from Volvo :)
