Light benders, but I never bother with the vx/Elise candles.

Car registration document (to prove you own the car if stopped)
Spare bulbs?
I just take some black tape for the lights. Never had to use any yet but best to be prepared for an enthusiastic gendarme.

Full size numberplate at the front. Well fixed.
And don't behave like a bell end at the peage points.

Here’s everything you need to carry with you when driving in France and a couple of things to leave at home
- • Full and valid driver’s licence
- • V5C
- • Proof of Insurance
- • Passport/national ID
- • Two NF certified breathalysers *
- • Reflective jackets for all passengers
- • Warning triangles
- • Headlamp beam deflectors
- • GB sticker (non GB-euro symbol plates only)
- • No speed camera detectors or sat-navs with camera locations
* A breathalyser kit is also required, but as of January 2013, the French government announced that the fine for not having an unused alcohol testing in the car had been postponed indefinitely. In other words, you should carry a breathalyser, but you won't be fined if you're found not to have one.

And check your account to ensure battery is still likely to work. A bit of a pain when you’re in the tag only lane and it doesn’t work.Sanef Toll tag if you have one
A bit late now if it is low but remembered to checked my 5 year old one 2 weeks ago to find it flagged as “battery nearing expiryâ€
If in doubt use a lane when entering the network where you can take a ticket just in case.

I'm now on a UK account, and it's a brand new tag, so I know I'm good now. Shame the UK Account ones are more expensive.

The first bit of rain in the whole trip , this evening just outside Venice, we are just thinking about heading out and its started thunder and lightning.
Planning to drive it over to the Venice tomorrow, then start heading back later.
Surprising thing of the trip , cheapest petrol so far is Austria €1,24 , so fill up just before Brenner pass before Italy €1.79
